Senior Manager (Cheers, Franchise Operations)
to lead and strengthen the operational performance of our Cheers convenience store franchise network. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, ensuring brand consistency, and fostering a high-performing and collaborative franchise ecosystem. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong commercial acumen, deep retail operations expertise, and a passion for developing franchisee success.
Key Responsibilities
Franchise Partner Management
Lead and coach a team of Area Managers to provide consistent, high-quality operational support to franchisees.
Build trusted relationships with franchise partners, acting as a key liaison between the business and franchise network.
Support franchisees in achieving sales, profit, and customer experience targets, ensuring alignment with brand and business objectives.
Ensure full compliance with Cheers’ SOPs, policies, and brand standards through structured reviews and operational guidance.
Operational Excellence
Drive operational discipline through regular store audits, business reviews, and process improvement initiatives.
Monitor and optimize store performance in areas such as inventory control, product availability, shrinkage, and service quality.
Identify and resolve operational gaps quickly to ensure a consistent and high-performing store network.
Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance productivity, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Performance & Business Management
Analyze store and network performance metrics (sales, margins, wastage, customer feedback) to identify trends and opportunities.
Develop and implement targeted action plans to improve profitability and operational performance.
Oversee the effective execution of promotional and marketing activities across the franchise network.
Partner with cross-functional teams (Merchandising, Marketing, Supply Chain, HR) to enable seamless operations.
People Leadership
Lead, motivate, and develop a team of Area Managers to ensure effective franchise management and operational consistency.
Coach franchisees and store teams to build operational capabilities, customer focus, and business ownership.
Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning across the network.
Growth & Expansion
Support new store openings, renovations, and franchise transitions to ensure smooth and timely execution.
Collaborate with the Business Development team to identify and evaluate new franchise opportunities and potential locations.
Lead the onboarding and integration process for new franchise partners to ensure readiness and operational excellence from day one.
Job Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Business, Retail Management, or related field.
At least 5–8 years of experience in multi-outlet retail or franchise operations, preferably in convenience retail, FMCG, or F&B sectors.
Proven leadership experience in managing large field operations or franchise networks.
Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret performance data and translate insights into actionable plans.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
Strategic yet hands-on approach; proactive, resourceful, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel frequently for store visits and franchise engagement.

Job Requirements

Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, with 6 years in an HR Business Partner role.
Demonstrated experience partnering with business leaders and driving HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
Strong knowledge of HR best practices across various disciplines (talent management, employee relations, compensation, performance management, etc.).
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills.
Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Strong problem‐solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‐paced environment.
Proficiency in HRIS systems and Google Workspace.
Preferred Skills (Optional)
