Being a Mediator between Operations and Vessel Owner. EWRI and Armed Guards fixtures. Maintaining Fleet Management Report and records. Carry out pre-fixture evaluation of the vessel suitability, regulatory compliance and risk mitigation for the intended trade use. Carry out mid and post-fixture evaluation of the vessel performance and suitability for the trade. Work with direct reporting line to understand market, freights and trend, creating competitive edge in chartering through developing opportunities and strategy. Build and maintain strong relationships with ship owners, ship brokers and stakeholders to achieve company goals. Lead and guide the chartering team members to achieve set chartering goals. Then in coordination with Operations Director: Check vessel performance / bunker / speed on base of TCD. Involves in new trading projects, both Liner and Feeder. - Handle pre- and post-fixture activities to ensure smooth execution.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial operations of the fleet, including the negotiation of charter parties, fixing of cargoes, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

- Strictly enforcing operating procedures in order to comply with the highest standards in the company
- Assist with preparation of weekly and monthly management reporting
Requirements
- Diploma/ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- 2+ years of dry bulk chartering, Familiar with the marketing of Bulk cargo is preferred
- To possess strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Good relationship with the shipper and trader of grain, coal, minerals, and other bulk cargo is preferred.
- Demonstrated business math and intermediate computer skills with MS Office skillsets
- To have Class 3 driving licence and own vehicle is preferred

- Communicate with the operations department to ensure a smooth operation of all voyages/TCTs, maximizing revenue and profit.
- Challenge assumptions to maximize the efficiency of sea voyages (routing/slow steaming).
- Document all negotiations correctly.
- Manage, in conjunction with the finance department, freight payments, ensuring they are prepared accurately and communicated in a timely manner to customers.
- Liaise with operations (internal) on all parameters of the voyage to ensure smooth execution, maximizing financial success.

- Communicate with the technical/operational departments regarding 'owned' voyages and challenge fleet assumptions.
- Assist with the preparation of weekly and monthly management reporting.
Crisis Management
- Make every effort to be aware of and understand your role in the event of a crisis.
- Make every effort to attend any relevant training, simulations and or meetings relating to Crisis Management.
- Perform your role as best as possible in a calm and collaborative manner in line with the relevant policy and procedures in the event of a Crisis.
- Provide input and feedback towards the ongoing improvement of the Crisis Management framework and procedure.

- Challenging and stopping unsafe acts and behaviours or unsafe conditions.

Key Qualifications & Skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree holder
Technical Skills
- Minimum 5 years of chartering experience in dry bulk shipping
- Brokerage and/or operations experience preferred

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and make commercial decisions within delegated authority
- Strong collaborative teamwork skills
- Strong organisational skills
- Proficient in system management and maintain data accuracy in documentation and reporting
