We are seeking an experienced Manager with specialized expertise in Financial Accounting. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Japanese culture and business practices. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to support operations across three entities (Malaysia, India and Singapore). Additionally, the candidate will serve as the primary liaison with Japan Headquarters. The key responsibilities include the following:
Malaysia
Prepare comprehensive monthly management reports and financial forecasts, including detailed presentation slides for senior management review
Perform in-depth analytical reviews of the financial performance of across various business units; investigate variances against norms, budgets and forecasts
Lead the coordination and preparation of annual budgets, and periodic forecasts, ensuring alignment with corporate financial objectives and operational plans
Participate in and support the rollout of Oracle Hyperion, including user training and process documentation to enhance financial planning and reporting capabilities
India
Plan, organize and coordinate all accounting activities related to company expansion plans and projects, working closely with Japan HQ to ensure compliance and alignment with global standards
Oversee and manage relationships with third-party external service providers, including for statutory accountants and tax consultants, to ensure timely and accurate statutory reporting and compliance
Serve as the primary liaison with the task force at Japan HQ, facilitating clear communication and resolution of accounting and reporting issues

Requirements

Experience with Oracle EBS and SAP FICO systems is a plus

Review balance sheet schedules include bank reconciliation and follow up the aged item with GBS and business operation.
Ensure timely and accurate month end/year end closing process, including BPC reporting submission to Group.
Responsible for tax pack/ tax forecast preparation, including year end, 3+9 etc.
Carry out impairment review exercise on a yearly basis.

Requirements:
Degree in Accounting or other accounting professional qualifications.
At least 8 years relevant experience with 3 years of managing skills.

You will work with and support the audit professionals as a technical expert in auditing, specifically the valuation of financial instruments, private equity investments and credit modelling for corporate and financial institutions.
