Job Description
a. Hazard Identification and Assessment: Adhering to initial and annual (or other cadence based on hazard) requirements, conduct industry-standard quantitative comprehensive workplace assessments to identify potential physical, chemical, biological, and ergonomic hazards.
b. Exposure Monitoring: Perform personal and area sampling for various hazards, such as noise, dust, fumes, vapours, and biological agents. For handling any personal records, the subcontractor shall adhere to the Client's privacy and program requirements.
c. Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Assessments: In accordance with applicable global/regional/local standards, evaluate IAQ parameters, including temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide levels, and identify potential sources of indoor air contaminants. This may also include measurements of proximal environmental events such as wildfires, smog, proximal emergency events (e.g. chemical spill from truck, train, etc.). Furthermore, this may necessitate emergent services that require relatively quick turnaround time (<1 week).
d. Thermal Stress Management: Develop and implement a (or improve an existing) thermal stress management program, including heat stress surveys, cold stress surveys, and thermal stress personal protective equipment (PPE) selection (if applicable).
e. Respiratory Protection Program: If needed, develop and implement a comprehensive respiratory protection program, including respirator selection, fit testing, and training.'
f. Hearing Conservation Program: Develop and implement a (or improve an existing) hearing conservation program, including noise surveys, audiometric testing, and hearing protection selection.
g. Radiation Safety Program: Develop and implement a radiation safety program, including creating regulatory framework and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), identifying hazards, promoting ALARA: Adhere to the "As Low As Reasonably Achievable" principle to keep radiation doses well below regulatory limits, and Personnel Monitoring and Training.
h. Training and Education: Provide training to employees on various industrial hygiene topics, such as hazard recognition, safe work practices, and PPE use.
i. Regulatory Compliance: Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, such as OSHA, NIOSH, and ACGIH standards.
Reporting and Documentation: Provide detailed reports summarizing assessment findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
