As a medical coder, you will be responsible for completing DRG coding, handling queries or clarifications, and auditing coded cases. You will work independently and as part of a team to ensure accuracy and adherence to coding standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Complete all DRG coding within an acceptable timeframe for submission to regulatory bodies.
- Seek clarifications from clinicians for unsure cases and highlight incomplete or missing medical records.
- Provide required DRG codes and/or clarifications to relevant parties within the given timeframe.
- Perform basic internal audits to ensure coding accuracy is at an acceptable level.
- Ensure compliance with established coding procedures and standards by all medical coders.
- Foreign MBBS, Nursing, or Healthcare diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year's experience in coding in a hospital setting (preferable).
- Meticulous, independent, good team player, thorough; good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.).
- Good ICD-10-CM knowledge.
