Position Overview

The Network Engineer supports and maintains infrastructure operations; monitors infrastructure performance and resolves technical problems. He/She leads high-impact projects, prioritizes and assigns tasks to ensure that team resources are used effectively and that infrastructure projects are implemented according to plans and budgets. He/She identifies and resolves highly complex or specialized issues that may require establishing new techniques and processes. He/She anticipates internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues and recommends improvements. He/She is required to be on standby with on-call availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

He/She applies a critical and analytical approach to resolving technical problems. He/She works well with his/her team and is able to guide them to ensure infrastructure projects are well implemented.

Role & Responsibilities

• Assist with infrastructure planning and design, including documentation of activities and decisions.
• Support infrastructure operations such as installation of systems according to specifications.
• Maintain infrastructure through ongoing activities and assist with changes and routines.
• Optimize infrastructure performance via tuning, upgrades, and testing.
• Gather performance data for capacity planning and reporting.
• Assist with piloting new tools, technologies, and processes.
• Resolve incidents by identifying problems, following up with users, and recommending system modifications.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years experience in Network Administration and Management.
• Strong understanding of wired and wireless network technologies.
• Experience with Cisco switches, NAC, WLC, and F5.
• CCNP preferred; CCIE advantageous.
• Experience with Cisco ACI and Huawei products is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and improve network infrastructure
• Install, configure, and support network devices (routers, switches, load balancers)
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to resolution
• Perform regular maintenance and firmware patching on network devices
• Manage change requests and ensure compliance with SLAs and policies
• Coordinate with vendors, stakeholders, and subcontractors for network-related tasks
• Support implementation projects and collaborate with other technical teams
• Prepare network reports and contribute to monthly SLA documentation

Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years of experience in network engineering within operations environments
• Strong technical knowledge of networking concepts and systems
• Experience with Cisco ACI and cloud environments is a plus
• ITIL certification is an advantage
• CCNA or CCNP certification required
• Strong understanding of network and system design
• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving, multitasking, and documentation skills
• Ability to meet demanding SLAs and respond quickly to service issues

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for network high-level and detailed design, implementation, operations, troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• Assess, design, implement, troubleshoot, and document Cisco networks and related systems
• Develop both high-level and detailed implementation and test plans for Cisco technologies related to enterprise and Data Centre networks
• Develop documentation as it relates to project requirements, and assist with or develop customer facing presentations of technology solutions.
• Write assessment and design reports, and present them to our customers.

Qualifications:

• Active CCIE in Routing and Switching / Data Centre is essential.
• Active CCIE in Routing and Switching / Data Centre is preferred, but SME level knowledge is essential (Minimum CCNP)
• Skills in one or more of the following areas a plus: Cisco Data center technologies, Network security (Firewall, VPN, etc.), Cisco ISE, Cisco WLAN
• Strong consultative skill set to include communications with varying levels of customer personnel as well as the ability to identify and help close new opportunities within existing clients
• Must be able to work with practice lead to coordinate scheduling to meet customer needs, sometimes juggling multiple projects at one time
• Strong business acumen with strong interests in keeping up-to-date with current technologies.
• Good verbal and written communication and presentation, negotiation skills.
• Good analytical and problem solving skills.
• Min 8 yrs of IT experience in Network & Data Centre solutions.
