About the Role

As a Patient Care Assistant, you will assist in providing patient care services such as the measurement of height, weight, and blood pressure. You will assist doctors in consultation rooms, perform simple medical procedures and dispatch jobs, and help ensure smooth patient flow.

Job Requirements

1. Preferably with Certificate in Healthcare (Clinic Practice)
2. Team player with strong customer service experience

As a valuable member of the SCH family, you are an integral part of the care team for rehab and sub-acute patients. You will assist the nursing staff in administrative duties, basic nursing care and infection control practices for an assigned group of patients. You will perform housekeeping duties, which includes ensuring a clean and tidy ward environment, as well as the maintenance of the ward inventory.

• GCE “N” Level
• A recognized Certificate in Health Care (Inpatient)
• Comfortable with shift work (3-rotating shift) and open to deployment within 2 work sites under SingHealth Community Hospitals
• Uniform required

The Patient Care Assistants' scope of work includes:

• Cleaning and grooming animals.
• Preparing food and feeding animals.
• Assist with moving animals from one place to another.
• Exercising dogs either in a yard or by taking them for walks.
• Check for signs of illness or distress in animals.
• Clean and upkeep animal accommodation (including changing bedding)
• Ensure animal enclosures are maintained.
• Keep relevant records and make bookings where applicable.
• Answer to questions and queries from visitors.

1. To perform basic nursing care, housekeeping and assist doctors and nursing staff in meeting the basic needs of patients in the patient areas. Provide patient care activities and orientation to patients and relatives.
2. To adhere to strict infection control measures and exercise standard precaution and good hand hygiene
3. Assist and participate in designated nursing procedures and treatments, ensuring the general comfort and well-being of the patient.
4. To assist in maintaining the general cleanliness and upkeep of the assigned work area within the facility
5. To assist in transferring patients to and from consultation

Job Requirements:

• Minimum Higher Nitec / Nitec / GCE N / O / A Level / or Equivalent
• ITE Skills Certificate Health Care (Inpatient) or WSQ Higher Certificate in Healthcare Support preferred
• Able to work on 3 rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays
  
  - 5 days work week:

Office Hours, 1 Saturday per month (8am-12pm)

• Training will be provided
