About the role
- 3 years contract - potentially convert to permanent upon completion
- The Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist will support residents in Oasis Village at SANH (Taman Jurong) to engage in meaningful work and skill-building activities across its facilities, including the minimart, coffee shop, pet farm, healing garden, barber shop, music shop, etc. The role focuses on assessing residents' abilities and interests, developing individualized vocational roles within the nursing home and beyond, including sourcing and securing suitable job placements externally for residents who demonstrate potential for external roles in open or supported employment.
Job Responsibilities
Assessment & Planning
-Conduct vocational assessments to evaluate residents' skills, interests and work readiness
- Identify barriers to participation and develop tailored vocational rehabilitation plans
· Collaborate with families, care teams and program staff to ensure holistic support
Guidance & Coaching
· Provide one-on-one and group coaching to enhance residents' confidence, motivation and social skills
· Support residents in goal-setting, vocation exploration and overcoming personal or functional challenges
· Offer guidance and training on workplace behaviour, task management and interpersonal skills
Program Integration & Support
· Facilitate residents' participation in Oasis Village (minimart, coffee shop, pet farm, etc)
· Coordinate with Job Coaches and Program Executives to ensure smooth vocational activities and monitor residents' progress
· Recommend accommodations or modifications to tasks based on residents' abilities
· Co-develop SOPs and workflows together with the other stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery to clients
· Engage and liaise with external parties to expand opportunities and provide support to residents who are able to engage in vocational arrangements
Documentation & Reporting
· Maintain timely and accurate records of assessments, vocational plans and residents' progress
· Report outcomes to management and propose improvements for vocational programs
Collaboration & Training
· Work closely with the multidisciplinary team including clinical staff, therapists, therapist assistants, job coaches and program staff to provide integrated support
· Conduct workshops or training sessions for staff on vocational rehabilitation principles and resident engagement strategies
General Duties
Any other duties as assigned by the Program Manager and/or the Executive Director.
Working Conditions
· Based in the nursing home, interacting with residents and program staff
· Standard working hours with flexibility for vocational activities, workshops or events
· Involves hands-on coaching and supervision across different programs in Oasis Villa

What the role is
You shall play key roles in implementing correctional counselling and/or casework interventions, work closely with fellow Captains of Lives and various internal/external stakeholders to facilitate sustained positive change in offenders.
What you will be working on
As a Correctional Rehabilitation Specialist (CRS), the job responsibilities may include:
• Conduct offender assessment and formulate intervention plans.
• Plan, coordinate and delivery of direct rehabilitative interventions for offenders (group-based programmes if in incare, or counselling and casework if in the community).
• Working closely with various stakeholders to improve offenders' social capital.
• Train and audit vendors who have been engaged to run rehabilitation services in incare or the community.
• Provide feedback on the needs of offenders and the effectiveness of correctional rehabilitation to various stakeholders.
• Engage in practice-based research and contribute to the development of policies.
• Ensure effective implementation of rehabilitation initiatives.
• Training and supporting Prisons officers in developing rehabilitation skills.
• Provide consultancy and direct support to Prison officers in their management of inmates with complex needs.
• Contributing to the development of new rehabilitation initiatives.
• As part of the Caring Action in Response to Emergencies (CARE) system, provide support to colleagues or stakeholders during critical incidents or operations.
• Administrative duties to support any of the above.

Set-up and maintain efficient and accessible filing system for department
Responsible for department general housekeeping and cleanliness of the work area and ensure work environment is ready for daily operations
Support the Cardiac Diagnostic Laboratory Team as advised by Supervisor
Qualifications
Min Nitec/ Diploma in Science
Full Training will be provided
Must be comfortable with hands on work
