Job Summary:
The Bakery Operations & Logistics Assistant plays a key supporting role in ensuring the smooth running of daily bakery operations. This includes food preparation, product handling, deliveries, ad-hoc purchasing, and general logistics and housekeeping tasks across production, retail, and storage locations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, and proactive in maintaining workflow efficiency and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Food Preparation & Handling
- Wash and prepare ingredients for baking, including cutting apples and separating bananas.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of ingredients according to hygiene standards.
- Assist bakers or kitchen team during peak periods as needed.
2. Logistics & Delivery
- Deliver baked goods and supplies between production kitchen, retail outlets, and external locations.
- Transfer ingredients, materials, and stock between point A & B (e.g., warehouse to kitchen).
- Handle loading and unloading of goods with care to avoid damage.
3. Purchasing & Errands
- Conduct ad-hoc purchasing of ingredients, packaging, or supplies from supermarkets or suppliers (e.g. NTUC).
- Source specific ingredients (e.g. bananas) or packaging materials as required by the team.
- Liaise with suppliers or retail partners during pickups and drop-offs when needed.
4. General Operations Support
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, kitchen spaces, storage rooms, and delivery vehicle.
- Assist in basic housekeeping tasks including sweeping, mopping, and waste disposal.
- Support with simple maintenance, tidying, and arranging supplies or packaging areas.
5. Inventory & Event Support (as needed)
- Assist with stock-taking or re-stocking of shelves and storage areas.
- Provide operational support during special events, pop-ups, or external sales booths (e.g. setup and teardown).
Requirements:
- Physically fit and able to carry medium-weight loads (up to ~15kg).
- Possess a valid Class 3 driving license preferred (for delivery duties).
- Comfortable lifting and moving stock (up to 25kg)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Prior experience in food handling or delivery logistics is a plus.
- Good attitude, punctual, and team-oriented.
- Punctual, honest, and detail-oriented
- Monthly Salary: SGD 2,200 – 2,800 (depending on experience)
