Key Responsibilities
Lead and support automation and control system design for vessel projects.
Develop system architecture, I/O lists, and control logic layouts for Ship Management Systems (SMS).
Review and integrate technical specifications from internal engineering teams.
Coordinate integration of third-party systems with the main control system.
Design layouts for control consoles, control rooms, and equipment arrangements using AutoCAD.
Review vendor proposals and ensure compliance with contractual and classification standards.
Liaise with clients, vendors, and project teams to ensure smooth technical execution.

We are seeking an Electrical Automation Systems Specialist to join our team. As an Electrical Automation Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for attending vessels for inspections, commissioning, surveys and troubleshooting of the automation and electrical systems, boilers, scrubbers, ballast water treatment systems and other machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Attend vessels for inspections, commissioning, surveys and troubleshooting of the automation and electrical systems, boilers, scrubbers, ballast water treatment systems and other machinery.
2. Deliberate with management on the requirements and procedures for project execution.
3. Organize and manage EIA projects toward the fulfillment of a set objective.
4. Provide EIA expertise to produce concept and detail designs for Marine/Ship/Offshore projects.
5. Prepare Electrical Load Balance Calculations, Single Line Diagrams, Short Circuit Calculations, Earthing System Calculations, and Breaker Selectivity Analysis.
6. Provide a selection of components like transformers, rectifiers, UPS, circuit breakers, battery system, cable selection, cable schedule, cable bulk MTO etc.
7. Develop Instrument list, I/O list, systems schematics, control philosophy, control narratives, control block diagrams, cause and effect table, data sheets etc.
8. Carry out troubleshooting and programming of Programmable Logic Controllers.
9. Prepare Cause and Effect diagrams, Control/Safety Narrative, and Logic Diagrams.
10. Interface with other discipline engineers, clients, equipment suppliers and class authorities.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical/Instrumentation/Automation Engineering or equivalent.
• An Electrician Engineer Certification is required.
• Arc Flash & High Voltage Safety Engineer Certification.

About the Role
We are currently expanding our advanced manufacturing and R&D footprint in Singapore and the South East Asia region where we are collaborating with vendor partners to develop complex automation solutions for dental manufacturing. These initiatives require co-development of novel, custom 3D/CAD/CAM algorithms and coordination with production process management software for machines to operate successfully in our manufacturing center.
To accelerate this work, we’re hiring a software engineering team based in Singapore to work closely with local vendors and serve as the technical bridge between our U.S. engineering team and the machine development process on the ground. This is a critical hire designed to increase development velocity. You’ll be close to the heart of Dandy’s automation innovation, solving novel problems that intersect software and hardware and make a significant contribution to shaping the future of custom digital manufacturing.
What You’ll Do
Be the bridge between our machine development and software development teams.
Oversee development testing and deployment of custom software modules which are critical to machine function (eg: custom path planning or design for manufacturing compensation algorithms).
Drive team execution and accountability in alignment with the strategic goals of the phases of machine development.
Partner with our TPMs to ensure development dependencies are in alignment with project program plans.
Work with the U.S.-based team during a daily 1–2 hour overlap window to stay aligned and escalate major issues or requests for support.

Act as the engineering point of contact for automation development partnerships

What we’re looking for
Ideally in a manufacturing, robotics, or automation context:
3+ years of software team and project management
5+ years of software engineering experience

Experienced with diagnostic tooling, debugging processes, and real-time monitoring of distributed systems.
