Therapy Assistant

As a Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our therapy team to deliver exceptional patient care. Your primary responsibility will be to assist therapists in physical treatments and administrative duties.

Clinical Duties:

• Ensure that clinical practices are maintained at the highest standard.
• Implement prescribed exercise programs and conduct group therapy sessions.
• Provide feedback on patient progress through regular reporting.
• Communicate effectively with patients and professionals alike.
• Work alongside therapists to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Be prepared to work with multiple patients simultaneously when needed.
• Take responsibility for covering services assigned to specific wards or out-patient units.

Non-Clinical Aspects:

• Contribute to the Rehabilitation Team by providing valuable insights into departmental processes and operations.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs, both internally and externally.
• Maintain and repair exercise equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
• Liaise with Support Services to maintain internal equipment.
• Ensure tidiness and cleanliness of all therapy areas.
• Report any loss or damage to rehabilitation equipment.

Administrative Duties:

• Maintain the department library and inventory.
• Provide administrative support, including document preparation and statistical analysis.
• Assist with photocopying and dispatching documents.
• Manage daily billing tasks as required.
• Participate in departmental meetings to stay informed and contribute ideas.
• Replenish assessment forms and exercise handouts as necessary.

Education and Training:

• Participate in basic therapy assistant training courses.
• Engage in ongoing education or upgrading programs for therapy assistants.
• Support new therapy assistants through orientation programs.
• Participate in supervision and mentoring programs for therapy assistants.
• Possess a degree or diploma in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy from a recognized university.
• A relevant working experience in therapy is preferred.
