Job Duties and Responsibilities
o Welcome the children in their classroom, at the start of the day.
o Supervise and accompany the children during recess, meals, some activities, nap time, when the
buses arrive and when they depart from school, help them with dressing, undressing, and changing when and where needed (with a follow-up on autonomy development); Prepare snack and mealtime, assist when and where needed.
o Ensure that personal hygiene and safety rules are respected in all pertinent places such as the classrooms, stairs, corridors, playground etc.; Clean, tidy up and store the school's equipment throughout the day, as well as at the end of the day.
o Maintain classroom organization and procedures (including supervision and rest time) as indicated by teacher: prepare and supervise activities, maintain classroom stationery, store student work in order.
o Instigate preventative measures to minimise accidents in the classroom and other areas. o Reinforce children's positive attitudes and behaviour.
o Refer parents to teachers with specific enquiries regarding education, welfare, social and
emotional development, student interactions and concerns.
o Participate in meetings and trainings according to the school calendar.
o Support the set-up and transition of new classroom routines and procedures as the school
grows and evolves.
o Contribute to the development of a warm, multilingual and inclusive classroom environment
aligned with Lumina's mission and values.
