Job Description
Teaching and Team Actions
Work with individual students or groups of students, in cooperation with the Class Teacher.
Support the learning needs of students in the class, under the direction of the Class Teacher.
Act consistently with the Class Teacher and the school’s Teaching and Learning Policy and curriculum documentation while teaching.
Accompany students to specialist lessons for Art, Music, PE, and Library, and support Specialist Teachers of those subjects.
During Language lessons, hand over students to the respective Language Teachers at the start and collect them at the end of lessons, supporting the Class Teacher during this period.
Assume responsibility for the class if/when the Class Teacher is unavailable for short periods.
Pastoral Care for Students
Greet students daily and help settle them.
Perform visual health screening and keep records of temperature and health status daily.
Offer guidance and counseling to individual students or small groups under the direction of the Class Teacher.
Communicate with parents as directed, typically through students’ Communication books.
Foster habits of care, balance, and open-mindedness with the Class Teacher and students.
Resource Management
Prepare materials for students’ learning activities.
Maintain, organize, and clean equipment weekly, keeping records of cleaning.
Photocopy, scan, record, and cross-reference materials to optimize resource use and record-keeping.
Promote a safe, clean, and tidy classroom environment at all times.
Optimizing Learning Environments and Student Outcomes
Collect, display, and organize students’ work under the direction of the Class Teacher.
Assist students and the Class Teacher in fostering and eliciting students’ expressions according to their needs and capabilities.
Share responsibilities with the Class Teacher for publishing and cataloging class news and reflections.
Assessment and Observation
Make observations and contribute to record-keeping as requested by the Class Teacher.
Support administrative tasks during assessment and reporting periods, especially at semester ends.
Other Duties and Professional Development
Perform after-school duty and waiting room duty as per the duty roster or negotiations with the Principal.
Attend relevant staff training sessions and meetings.
During school breaks, conduct holiday activities, playground duties, bus supervision, and hall duties as directed by the Senior Administrator or Pre-School Supervisor.
Qualifications:
Minimum Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education - Teaching (English) or equivalent.

Overview
