Key accountability (Main purpose of this job):
This role acts as a PE swim instructor, swim team coach, and program assistant working within the Aquatics program, including PE, ECA and Swim Team, to implement all instructional aspects.
Responsibilities (Key areas of Responsibilities):
Work closely with the Head of Aquatics to implement all curricular PE Swim Programs, Swim Team and Staff/Student Development opportunities in all aspects of swimming, first aid and lifesaving.
Ensure all swim team practices are conducted in a safe and friendly environment, and assume a coaching role as defined by the Head of Aquatics.
Administer and assist in conducting swimming meets with the Aquatics department, including set-up, communication meet manager and necessary planning.
Be available for in-service training for faculty, swimming instructors/aides, and lifeguards when necessary.
Work in Holiday Swim Camps and Summer Camps.
Work closely with the Head of Aquatics and Swim Coach in other areas where necessary.
Duties for School Holidays and Summer Breaks:
Assist to organise, plan and teach Learn-to-swim and squad programs.
Maintain inventory and ensure good housekeeping, including safekeeping of equipment and general upkeep and tidiness) of the pool area are in place.
Supervise pool usage and other users and coaches.
Act as the Summer camp swim coach and coordinator.
Other administrative duties where necessary.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in an aquatics teaching environment.
Must have:
Valid Aquatics Programming Certification
Valid Water Safety Instructor Certification from home country or place of record
Valid Standard First Aid Certification or equivalent
Valid Lifeguard Certification
Competitive swim team coaching and/or experience
Strong team player with excellent interpersonal, management and leadership skills.

Singapore Aquatics (SAQ), as a member of World Aquatics (AQUA), serves as the governing body for swimming, water polo, diving, and artistic swimming in Singapore. SAQ is charged with the development and education of aquatic athletes, officials, coaches and volunteers throughout Singapore, and with the conduct of competitions and programmes for all levels of participation. We are seeking a full time NTC Assistant Head Coach who holds a supportive role in the ongoing development of the NTC's coaching programme.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Possess technical knowledge of swimming with relevant swimming coaching certifications of National Registry of Coaches (NROC) Level 1 or equivalent
- Proven track record of coaching at developmental and high performance levels
- A flexible approach to working hours including the ability to work on weekends as and when required
- Ability to travel for competitions
- Ability to use Microsoft office tools like word, excel and powerpoint
- Knowledge on Sports Science required.

Job Purpose:
As an ASCT you will support the swimming teacher during swimming lessons. You will help teach our Kindergarten and Primary School students to develop swimming skills, technique and confidence in the water. You will lead sub-groups of the class. You will lead learn to swim, developmental and competitive swim squads during CCA and morning sessions. As a pool supervisor, you will supervise the lessons in the pool as an observer to ensure safe practice.

Duties as ASCT
- To deliver lessons, ensuring adherence to the values and vision of GESS
- To plan appropriate tasks for swimmers based on the objectives of the lesson
- Ensure all equipment and facilities are well maintained and correctly used at all times
- Ensure safety standards are followed in sessions
- To be a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage children to participate in swimming
- Work alongside the Head of Swimming and other Swimming Teachers/Coaches
- Engagement in leading swimming specific CCA's and swim squads as directed by the Head of Swimming
- Provide effective explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques
- Identify and correct faults in swimming techniques, and provide ways to improve performance
