    The Opportunity

We’re hiring our first Senior Analytics Engineer — a software engineer who’s passionate about building with data. This is a foundational role where you’ll help architect our data platform from scratch, working across our backend systems and analytical layers to make data reliable, accessible, and actionable for the whole company. You’ll work closely with leadership, engineering, and product to define the metrics and models that drive HeyMax forward. Expect full ownership, high impact, and the opportunity to leave your fingerprints on everything from infrastructure choices to business logic.

    What You’ll Do
    • Design and implement our modern data stack from the ground up — likely including BigQuery, dbt, Databricks, and Fivetran, with orchestration tools like Airflow or n8n
    • Build well-tested, maintainable, and scalable data models to support self-serve analytics and operational use cases
    • Partner with engineers to instrument meaningful product events and ship reliable pipelines
    • Write clean, modular SQL and Python code, and apply software engineering best practices (version control, CI/CD, testing, code reviews)
    • Help define metrics and core business logic across product, growth, ops, and finance
    • Establish data governance, documentation, and access practices as we scale
    • Make architectural calls that will influence the next billion rows of data

    Who You Are
    • 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or software engineering roles focused on data
    • Strong software fundamentals and comfort working across SQL, Python, and cloud data platforms
    • Deep experience with dbt, BigQuery or Databricks, and data transformation at scale
    • You treat analytics engineering like software engineering — clean abstractions, test coverage, and clear documentation matter
    • Comfortable working in ambiguous environments and navigating across different codebases and teams
    • Passionate about enabling teams through data and making complex systems intuitive to work with

    Why Join Us
    • Founding scope – Architect our data stack and shape how data is used across the business
    • High agency, real ownership – You’ll have autonomy, influence, and a seat at the table
    • Technical depth meets business impact – You’ll solve tough infra and modeling problems that directly drive growth
    • Great team – Work with ex-Grab, Google, Facebook, and Bain folks who care deeply about doing great work
    • Flexible setup – We’re open to remote and hybrid arrangements for the right person
