Business Intelligence (BI) Manager, APAC

Job Overview

The BI Manager will be responsible for interpreting and analysing results as well as the delivery of a new high profile Microsoft Power BI solution, and develop the data processes, reporting, dashboards and data visualisations to meet the data analysis requirements of the business. Thereafter, be responsible for the continual improvement and administration of the Power BI system and related data infrastructure.

Required Skills

Drive business intelligence needs for seller e-commerce insurance business market expansion across multiple markets through data-driven insights and decision making to inform our short and long term business strategy
Adopt and lead an evidence-based, data-driven approach towards end to end process and business analysis for the implementation of seller e-commerce insurance businesses across markets, including understanding and analysis of data sets from both Shopee and Monee domains
Support in ad hoc crucial data-related business measures and initiatives essential to proper business functioning, and develop a long term strategy towards scaling such initiatives for a more automated and holistic solution
Analyze financial impact to topline and bottomline from seller e-commerce insurance initiatives across multiple regional markets for ongoing business growth planning
Drive regular business performance reporting for key management and financial reporting, and for data-driven actionable business decisions and initiatives to ongoing business optimization across both commercial and operational aspects
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and above in Computer Science/Engineering, Business Analytics, Information Technology, Statistics and other related fields.
Open to candidates across experience levels, including entry-level and experienced professionals.
Proficient in data and analytics related technical skills, including MySQL, Presto SQL, Python, and Spark
Motivated by, and capable of, analyzing and driving solutions to complex problems around both e-commerce operations and insurance domains
Deeply curious about ways to improve the topline and bottomline of Shopee business through insurance, by taking a data-driven approach in decision making, working closely with regional and local business teams
Excited about, and have appreciation for, working with and managing multiple stakeholders in a project, including effective working method with various regional and local teams across multiple Shopee markets

Job Description
Partner with business teams to provide insights to support data-driven decision-making strategy
Take part in cross-functional teams’ technical data projects
Provide solid technical support on automation and business projects
Develop and maintain data workflows to support business operations and give improvement suggestions
Translate complex business requests to executional technical tasks
Automate manual reporting process by VBA/python/SQL
Monitor and optimise reporting flow from back-end to front-end
Design and develop a data mining tool to support business decision making
Requirements
Bachelor’s/Master's Degree, preferably in data analytics, statistics, mathematics or any other quantitative discipline
Fresh graduates are welcome
Proven technical skills, python, SQL, VBA, Excel, Google Sheets, Tableau etc
Experience in web crawling preferred

The Business Intelligence Team sits within the CEO Office as a Strategy & Transformation function within Dyson. The role is accountable for the operational leadership on the assigned product categories within the business.
The position is also accountable for driving strategic decision making through Competitor, Product, Technology & Market Intelligence across all stakeholder groups. Highlighting holistic and strategic analysis to leverage intelligence assessments for Dyson to create and protect market leading products and supporting senior leaders shape category and business strategies.
Responsibilities include:
Category subject matter expect, highly proficient in data analytics and strategic assessment.
Deliver a platform of Intelligence that services RDD, Business Unit & Legal project to enable strategic decision making.
Business Intelligence support to the IP Enforcement and Product Litigation teams.
Accountabilities Strategic
Delivering the provision of intelligence through data analytics to drive the strategic goals of the business.
Leading across the Global BI Team Goals that enhance our team's service model growth.
Operational
Managing and prioritizing resource / time in accordance with their impact/profile/urgency, managing stakeholders for your categories.
Delivering consistent BI Service across all categories and applying constant learnings to enhance our service model.
Accountability on Business Intelligence benchmarking & data matrices which enable efficiency & effective decision making for the business.
Operational reporting and analysis to senior stakeholder groups within the enterprise (e.g. Legal , RDD and BU).
Supports the preparation of BI data, analysis, competitive landscape, delivered to Dyson senior leadership (ExCo, Board and JD).
Financial Performance
Oversee an operational testing budget centered on regional and category strategic value to Dyson.
Effective management of category spend against approved budget.
Conduct forecasting exercises to guide future budget cycles.

Work closely with senior management to provide data-driven insights and support strategic decision-making.

Design, build, and maintain data models/systems, dashboards, and reports to support business operations and decision-making.

Conduct competitor analysis and benchmarking studies to assess market positioning.

Support to the necessary activities for development, review, and implementation of Taste (Flavor) growth strategy plans.

Collect, extract and analyze complex data sets from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and correlations that inform business decisions.

Use analytics to derive critical understanding of business nuances and derive impactful business conclusions and possible action plans

Collaborate with regional cross-functional teams to understand business needs and develop tailored analytics solutions that drive business value.

Develop and maintain regular reports (e.g., monthly, quarterly) that provide actionable insights on business performance, operations, and market trends.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and suggest data-driven solutions to enhance business efficiency and effectiveness.

Explore new business opportunities/model for white space expansion.

Develop predictive models to forecast future growth and identify opportunities for business innovation and improvement.

Develop new analytic tools for decision making. Drive projects on digitalization to support commercial team for process improvement

Key requirement

Bachelor's degree in business, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.

8-10 years' experience in Data analysis/ Business Intelligence, preferably within the Flavors Industry.

High proficiency in Sales Force, BI tools, databases, and data analysis techniques

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large datasets.

Regional experience.

Data driven mindset and strong analytical skills with experience in using internal, primary and syndicated research/data, market and competitive analysis.

Ability to solve complex business problems using data. proactive in delivering actionable business insights and solutions from complex processes.

Attention to Detail - High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present findings clearly.

Ability to influence and a strong negotiator.

Self-motivated and capable of working independently across various time zone.
