Summary
As a member of the KYC/AML Specialist team, you will serve as a support member for the client relationship teams, partnering to meet Anti Money Laundering (AML) Client Due Diligence (CDD) Refresh requirements. You will partner with product sales and other banking or markets relationship teams, manage a client refresh population, reach out for key AML/CDD documentation, and act as an escalation point for service or operational challenges that may arise in KYC refresh. KYC/AML analysts act as the primary point of coordination between Banking/Markets and AML Refresh Operations teams to ensure timely and accurate compliance to policy and regulatory requirements in KYC refresh. You will ensure the accuracy of documentation, and screening, obtain approvals from Compliance and Business and complete refresh cases in a timely and accurate manner.
Responsibilities
Support annual KYC refresh for Banking and Markets clients
Execute with client perspective while balancing risk to the firm
Support a culture of teamwork and collaboration focused on goals and delivery
Adhere to standards for timeliness and accuracy of AML CDD case completion
Master CDD requirements applicable to the banking clients and guide clients and bank staff in complying with them
Understand and adopt process recommendations and procedural updates derived from changes to policy, technology adoption and process enhancements
Coordinate with partners in other regions and LOBs to ensure partnership in global KYC initiatives
Assist in tracking both Annual refresh population and other KYC related populations in partnership with coverage team
Ability to communicate in Mandarin with Chinese clients for business purposes
Eligibility Requirements
5+ years of experience in financial services preferably with banks
Strong KYC/AML expertise, with experience in AML CDD policy standards and industry practices in AML CDD
Experienced in CDD KYC/AML operating processes, with knowledge of regulatory requirements for APAC (MAS, HKMA)
Proven stakeholder relationship/influence management skills to achieve swift adoption through close partnerships
Previous experience in client facing roles and must demonstrate a strong client focus
Understanding of the operational aspects of products and services used by Banking clients
Self-motivated, independent, strong sense of ownership with ability to work in a team environment
The ability to find ways of solving or pre-empting problems
Understands and respects cultural differences

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
AML Management:
Provide support to develop, implement, and maintain the company’s AML policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with MAS regulations and local legislations.
Transaction Monitoring:
Conduct transaction monitoring to detect and report suspicious activities. Review and analyse alerts generated by our AML monitoring system.
KYC/Customer Due Diligence:
Conduct Know Your Customer (KYC), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and Enhanced Customer Due Diligence (ECDD) processes for new and existing customers. Review information and documentation received, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. Approve or escalate cases as needed to ensure proper risk assessment is completed before allowing transactions to proceed.
Customer Liaison:
Work directly with customers to guide them through KYC/AML documentation processes, answer inquiries, and ensure compliance is maintained.
Reporting:
Prepare and submit Cash Transaction Reports (CTRs) and Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) to the relevant authorities in a timely manner.
Training & Awareness:
Provide regular AML training and guidance to employees to enhance their understanding of AML obligations and best practices.
Regulatory Reporting:
Ensure accurate and timely submission of regulatory reports and filings as required by MAS and other regulatory bodies.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated on changes in AML laws, regulations, and best practices. Recommend and implement enhancements to the AML compliance framework.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments, including stakeholders, legal, and operations, to ensure a cohesive approach to compliance.
Qualifications
Diploma in Finance, Business, Law, or any related field.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in AML compliance, preferably within the financial services or precious metals industry.
Strong knowledge of MAS AML/CFT regulations and PEP screening.
Experience with transaction monitoring systems and KYC/CDD/ECDD processes.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train others.
Location

Salary and Benefits
The salary is dependent on your capability, experience and skills. The typical starting salary is from SGD 3,000 to SGD 4,500 per month for a driven candidate, plus up to 3 months' bonus. What You Do
This role supports the Singapore Retail Business on day-to-day FCC-related advisory and ad hoc project/regulatory related matters, primarily:
Review Customer Due Diligence assessments from the BU for AML/CFT & Sanctions risks.
Provide AML/CFT advisory guidance to the BU and be a subject matter expert on the interpretation of policies, procedures, and regulations in relations to AML, KYC and CDD.
Coordinate with the GRB Policy designate to ensure BU considers for change implementation the Group CDD procedures updates arising from e.g. regulatory changes.
Provide sound FCC regulatory advice for new product reviews.
Identify compliance issues that require follow up or investigation and discuss emerging FCC risk issues with BU to keep abreast with AML/CFT and sanctions laws, regulations, and developments.
Facilitate the periodic CDD and AML/CFT risk reporting to key stakeholders by GFCC CFS Advisory as well as ensure FCC governance oversight of similar BU reporting.
Manage regulatory queries in coordination with BU and other relevant stakeholders.
Provide AML/CFT training to Business Unit or 1.5 Compliance unit as required.
Participate and facilitate internal AML related projects and industry projects, as required.
Any other duties/assignments that are assigned by the line manager.
Who You Are
Holds a bachelor’s degree in related disciplines or equivalent.
Possesses 5 – 7 years of working experience in advisory function with other global and/or local financial institutions, preferably related to retail business / private banking.
Strong working knowledge of AML/CFT regulatory requirements including MAS Notice 626. Knowledge of sanctions is a plus.
Great interpersonal, communication and ability to work collaboratively across different stakeholder groups.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 10-15 years financial crime experience within a consulting firm, regulatory body or large financial institution.
  • Subject matter expertise in the areas of financial crime, compliance operations and artificial intelligence.
  • Business development experience focused on solutions with a significant services component.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • MBA preferred; BA/BSc in relevant field required.
  • Experience of writing social media blogs and delivering online seminars.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and learn quickly.
  • Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time.

  • Strong proven skills in client relationships and people leadership.
  • Customer facing skills, presenting, and articulating prescribed messaging.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate and influence at all levels of an organization, including C-level executives and decision makers.

  • Knowledge of core business domains i.e., strategy, operations, data analysis techniques and artificial intelligence.
  • Capable of working on multiple overlapping tasks in a fast-paced environment “Can-Do” attitude and problem-solving approach.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as an AML Compliance Officer.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform periodic and ad-hoc reviews of existing retail banking customers' accounts to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering regulations.
  • Conduct enhanced due diligence on high-risk customers to understand their source of wealth and corroborate their information.
  • Identify gaps in customer knowledge profiles and highlight areas that require additional documentation or verification.
  • Verify transactions against customers' profiles to prevent potential money laundering activities.
  • Assist in administrative tasks, projects, and other work assigned by management.

This is a highly motivated role requiring the ability to commit fully during the 3-month period. Relevant skills include Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Due Diligence, Wealth, Stakeholder Engagement, Retail Banking, Banking, AML, Team Player, Microsoft Word, and KYC.
