About the Team
The Trust & Safety Policy team of TikTok develops, reviews, and implements the policies and processes that underpin our Community Guidelines to promote a positive and safe environment for all of our users and content creators to enjoy and express themselves. The LIVE AI Policy team, staying at the frontline of T&S initiative, reinforces policy infrastructure for AI applications, ensuring stronger alignment between policy development and model enforcement. By harnessing AI, we enhance policy enforceability and resilience amid evolving risks. Our team partners closely with algorithm engineers, product managers, data scientists, and operational experts to drive major safety strategies and empower platform-wide shifts.
Responsibilities
- Lead prioritization and program management of policy–model iteration to mitigate novel risks and enhance the Creator experience.
- Design and standardize policy inputs for AI models to safeguard the LIVE experience.
- Articulate policy governance goals to guide model training and data collection.
- Define evaluation criteria to measure policy–model alignment and effectiveness.
- Translate model limitations into policy implications for non-technical audiences. Reversely, identify challenges in model-based enforcement and propose actionable policy solutions for technical stakeholders.
- Leverage AI capabilities to surface policy gaps and address emerging risks and shifting user/content patterns.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master's degree in public policy, law, social sciences, economics, communications, behavioral sciences, business management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in product policy, program management, or a related domain.
- Demonstrated ability to decompose ambiguity, articulate systemic constraints, design solutions, and take full ownership of cross-functional initiatives.
- Proven ability to balance short and long-term strategy, upholding safety principles and understanding business-technical tradeoffs
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing and operationalizing policy for AI models or auto-enforcement systems.
- Experience drafting policy guidance, playbooks, or evaluation standards to support scalable implementation.
- Proficiency in data analysis and familiarity with research methodologies to inform policy decisions.
- Track record of navigating rapid change and adapting proactively to evolving technologies and risks.
