The Opportunity:
As part of the Financial Accounting and Advisory Team, you will play a vital role in supporting our CFO agenda and partnering with financial institutions. You will go beyond traditional accounting standards, focusing on the proactive and business-oriented aspects of finance. Your expertise in finance transformation, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), data and analytics, process optimization and controls, as well as new accounting standards implementation, will be crucial in delivering value-added solutions to our clients.
Your Key Responsibilities:
You will be working together with the senior associates, managers and partners to plan, lead and execute engagements for financial institutions, focusing on the following areas:
- Collaborate with financial institutions to drive finance transformation initiatives, leveraging digital tools and technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Conduct data transformation and analytics to generate valuable business insights, enabling data-driven decision-making and value creation for our clients.
- Support the sustainability agenda by assisting in the development and implementation of long-term value reporting and disclosure frameworks, aligning with regulatory requirements and best practices.

Job Description
Client Advisory Group is a treasury practitioner-led team that helps Citi clients progress treasury practices and evolve corporate treasury functions to support enterprise growth and transformation. The Senior Advisor engages finance and treasury executives at our multinational corporate, State Owned, Non-Bank Financial Institutions and eCommerce clients to advise on treasury, liquidity, payments, working capital, financing, FX, and technology strategies in support of their business growth. The Senior Advisor also supports the creation of thought-leadership content for clients on industry direction and best practices. The role sits within the Citi Services Client Advisory global team and the candidate may be based in either Hong Kong or Singapore.
The successful candidate will be an industry professional with direct experience gained as a corporate treasury practitioner at a multinational corporate. Experience as a senior consultant in a major consultancy or as a senior advisor in a major bank's treasury advisory team would be a plus. Specifically, the position requires practical expertise in corporate treasury and working capital management across the Greater China and North Asia region with an excellent understanding of managing treasury in these markets.
A commercial mindset is essential to help Citi determine how we grow our business as a trusted advisor to our clients. A strategic mindset is also necessary to contribute to helping shape the future direction of Citi's solution innovations in treasury and working capital management. The role calls for a highly motivated self-starter, with excellent communication skills, ability to influence and align peers and partners in order to execute across a large, global, matrix organization.
This position requires excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Mandarin (Japanese or Korean a plus), as engagements are often at a senior level, both internally and externally. Presenting at industry forums and client events will be expected.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Lead client advisory engagements encompassing treasury, working capital management, and payments. This involves engaging clients brought in by Sales colleagues; providing clients diagnostics and advice on performance improvement opportunities; and, recommending best practice solutions in global treasury, working capital management, payment strategies, and treasury technology
+ Ability to articulate the life cycle and evolution of treasury structures and treasury technology; using that to advise clients in designing treasury structures to support their international/global expansion and growth
+ Have depth of understanding of supply chain shifts, procurement strategies, and digital transformation across industries; leverage that to Identify trade and working capital management opportunities for clients
+ Create and deliver thought leadership articles and presentations based on client engagements, practitioner experience in the industry, and leveraging partnerships with other Citi advisory teams (e.g. in Citi's Markets and Banking divisions), and the world-leading research capabilities of Citi.
+ Advise companies in assessing and addressing treasury challenges of operating in highly regulated emerging markets.
+ Provide insights to the development of best practice analytical solutions for clients, considering tax and accounting implications of corporate structures and banking solutions.
+ Provide insights on clients' global treasury and working capital priorities to Citi's sales/client coverage teams and product development teams, contributing to enhancing Citi's product competitiveness.
Qualifications:
+ 15+ years of experience
+ Deep corporate treasury experience required; consulting / advisory experience in related fields a plus
+ Bachelor's/University degree a requirement; master's degree or equivalent professional certification (e.g. CA/CPA) is a plus
Languages
+ Given the nature of Clientele. native/excellent proficiency in English and Chinese, Mandarin - oral, written, and presentational is required.
+ Candidates who have additional proficiency in Korean or Japanese will have an advantage.

The Restructuring and Insolvency Senior / Assistant Manager conducts market research and financial analyses. He/She participates in business development and stakeholder interactions and manages the restructuring and insolvency processes for the client engagements that he/she is responsible for. Adherence to standards of ethics and maintain quality assurance in processes is expected of the role.
Responsibilities
- Analyse historical financial performance and perform cash flows analyses
- Conduct and review financial analyses, financial statements review and assess business performance
- Coordinate with multiple stakeholders in complex liquidations and restructurings
- Generate ideas and solutions as well as review proposed recommendations for improving liquidity, credit availability, and creditor return
- Prepare documents for sales of distressed assets
- Research and provide recommendations on simplifying legal entity structures of clients
- Prepare correspondence to clients with creditors during restructuring or insolvency
- Manage project and guide the team to execute the judicial management, receivership and liquidation
- Gather relevant data and information to develop a proposal and/or scheme of arrangement

Requirements
- Background in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance or other relevant field
- At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in corporate insolvency and restructuring
- Member of ISCA preferred but not necessary
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, generate insights and construct solutions
