You will be an integral member of the Actuarial Life Reporting Team who will work in collaboration with other key team members, the Finance, IT and PMO Department on key functions pertaining to IFRS17 Reporting. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Accountable for IFRS17 deliveries for Life portfolio; and ensure internal and regulatory compliance
- Manage valuation data workflows including Prophet ALS models, and uphold best practices
- Lead Actuarial consolidation reporting with the team to provide actionable business insights on the Life portfolio
- Build up capabilities on stochastic technical excellence to sharpen TVOG estimation
- Drive automation initiatives of actuarial processes, adoption of new data analytic techniques & technology on reserving and IFRS17 processes
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor Degree in Actuarial Sciencewith good progress in actuarial qualifications with either US, UK, or Australia Actuarial Institutes
- At least 7 - 9 years of relevant experience in Life valuation function, experience in IFRS17 reporting will be an advantage
- Strong team player who is adaptable, open to a dynamic working environment and willing to learn and explore new ways of working

+ Act as peer reviewers of the team's pricing models. This involves exposure to AXIS (actuarial software), and gives interns insight into how each benefit and reserve component is modelled in a life-insurance company.
+ Custom pricing. Interns perform ad-hoc pricing on special requests to provide better value to customers, whilst not exceeding company risk appetite and lower bounds for profitability.
+ Build Policy illustration templates and calculations. These calculations will be used as reference for the IT team for building these new products in the Manulife's live illustration engine.
+ UAT testing for new product launches. This involves extensive use of excel and the writing of macro programs (VBA) to expedite the checking process.
+ Other ad-hoc tasks
