The Alliance Française of Singapore is a local non-profit educational and cultural organization, affiliated with the international network of Alliances Françaises. With a mixed team of Singaporeans and French, and more than 4,000 members of all ages, the Alliance Française de Singapore fulfills its mission of teaching the French language and promoting French and Francophone cultures by offering various actions in its language center, gallery, theater and library.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Under the direct responsibility of the Director of Studies, the academic coordinator organize and manage all the activities related to private and corporate courses as well as French examinations and certifications to ensure a steady development of the Language Centre
The academic coordinator will initiate, lead, or support educational projects and participate in teacher training. They will assist the director of studies as needed and will cover for them during their leave.
The position requires a commitment to the Alliance's innovation and development projects and a high degree of versatility.
REQUIRED SKILLS :
– French as a Foreign Language (FLE) teacher with experience in an administrative/coordination role
– Minimum 5 years of professional experience at an Alliance Française, French Institute, and/or university
– Good English skills (minimum B2 level)
– Ability to work independently as well as in a team
– A passion for educational creation and administrative work
– Rigor, enthusiasm, dynamism, creativity, and commitment
– Good presentation skills and ability to represent the institution
– Experience in team management
– DELF-DALF certification
– Experience in business/marketing is a plus

Reporting to the Director and Head of Academic Services, the Academic Director provides strategic academic leadership and oversight for the Curtin College Diploma programs delivered at the Curtin Singapore campus.
The role is responsible for ensuring the efficient, effective, and equitable delivery of high-quality academic programs in alignment with the legislative, regulatory, and academic frameworks of both Curtin College and Curtin Singapore. Key responsibilities include the development and implementation of a quality learning and teaching framework, coordinate program design with Curtin College and accreditation processes, effective management of academic resources, including sessional and ongoing teaching staff, and the provision of academic guidance and support aimed at enhancing the overall student experience.
Key Result Areas
- Foster innovative teaching and learning strategies that are aligned with Curtin College’s academic approach.
- Manage ongoing and sessional teaching staff, including their ongoing professional development in their discipline-specific knowledge, as well as contemporary teaching, learning and assessment practices.
- Nominate suitably qualified teaching staff for approval by the Curtin College Academic Director.
- Oversee and undertake the implementation of agreed quality assurance processes with Curtin College, ensuring all teaching staff complete induction and professional development requirements.
- Oversee the timely production, quality control and publication of approved teaching and learning materials, ensuring accurate documentation of approvals and version controls.
- Plan unit offerings for each study period with Academic Services and Curtin College, ensuring appropriate record keeping of college approvals and versions.
- Contribute to academic benchmarking processes, including the administration and analysis of Singapore Curtin College student evaluations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to implement effective processes for evaluating, assessing, and continuous improvement of course delivery.
- Contribute to the preparation and submission of academic committee reports for both Curtin College Perth and Curtin Singapore.
- Provide academic advice to students on program requirements, academic policies and procedures, program progression and other student academic matters.
- Build and maintain strong and effective working relationships with staff at Curtin College Perth, Curtin University Perth and other global campuses.
- Support academic leadership in managing and processing cases related to academic integrity breaches.
