Job Description
What you'll do:
As a Supply Planning Analyst, you will immerse yourself in the heart of supply chain operations where your attention to detail and analytical mindset will be crucial in maintaining optimal inventory levels across multiple markets. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close coordination with various departments to ensure accurate forecasting, timely replenishments, and effective risk mitigation strategies. You will leverage advanced technology platforms to monitor shipments, manage master data integrity, and generate insightful reports that inform strategic decisions. By participating in key meetings such as S&OP sessions and engaging in continuous process improvement initiatives, you will help drive operational excellence while supporting broader digital transformation goals. Your proactive approach to problem-solving and commitment to data accuracy will enable you to identify service level improvement opportunities that benefit both internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Monitor and manage stock levels across domestic, wholesale, and regional channels by analysing forecasts, historical sales data, and re-order quantities to ensure optimal inventory coverage without excessive risk exposure.
- Collaborate with demand planning, sales, marketing, and finance teams to prepare replenishment forecasts and analytical reports that support bottom-up operational plans and facilitate effective S&OP meetings.
- Oversee inbound shipments by coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely deliveries that meet outbound demand requirements while proactively identifying solutions for potential stock shortages or delays.
- Analyse inventory data to highlight risks such as excess or aged stock and provide actionable recommendations to relevant stakeholders for clearance or optimisation initiatives.
- Place purchase orders accurately and track shipment progress using global tools; communicate any risks or delays effectively while ensuring all documentation is processed promptly for seamless PO cycles.
- Participate in warehouse activities including cycle counts and annual stock takes; coordinate with logistics teams on discrepancies or damages and provide clear instructions for stock disposal when necessary.
- Maintain master data integrity by setting up new SKUs in various systems (Product Cloud, Connect, JDE ERP) and updating land cost revisions as required; ensure transfer pricing processes are executed accurately in collaboration with finance teams.
- Engage actively in demand review and pre-S&OP meetings with cross-functional partners to optimise meeting processes and align promotional plans with supply capabilities.
- Prepare comprehensive monthly reports covering budget versus actual sales performance, depletion/shipping forecasts, slow-moving/obsolete stock summaries, and action plans for SKU rationalisation initiatives.
- Support digital transformation projects by assisting with the implementation of automated supply planning tools, troubleshooting system issues through root cause analysis, and continuously seeking opportunities for process improvement.
To excel as a Supply Planning Analyst in this role, your background should reflect substantial experience managing complex inventory portfolios within fast-evolving retail environments. Your expertise will encompass not only technical proficiency with advanced Excel functions but also practical familiarity with integrated ERP systems such as JDE. You will bring an innate ability to interpret large datasets into actionable insights that inform both tactical decisions (such as order placements) and strategic initiatives (like SKU rationalisation). Your interpersonal strengths will shine through as you engage constructively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds-ensuring alignment between commercial objectives and operational realities. A keen sense of responsibility towards data integrity combined with an openness towards adopting new technologies will set you apart as an invaluable contributor during periods of organisational change. Above all else, your commitment to fostering positive relationships within interdependent teams will underpin your success throughout this assignment.
- A degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics demonstrating foundational knowledge of industry best practices.
- At least three years of hands-on experience in supply chain management with a focus on supply planning and inventory management within a retail environment.
- Exceptional organisational abilities paired with strong analytical skills that allow you to manage complexity effectively while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in IT systems including advanced Excel skills; familiarity with stock management or MRP systems is essential while experience with JDE ERP is highly advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills enabling you to collaborate seamlessly across functions such as sales, marketing, demand planning, finance, distribution, and logistics.
- A proven ability to identify root causes of issues through critical thinking techniques coupled with a solution-oriented mindset focused on continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated experience preparing detailed reports on inventory status, sales performance metrics, slow-moving stock summaries, and KPI tracking for management review.
- Comfortable participating in change management initiatives related to digital transformation projects including system implementations or upgrades within the supply chain domain.
- Experience managing master data setup/maintenance across multiple platforms ensuring accuracy at all times while adhering strictly to compliance standards.
- A collaborative spirit combined with adaptability that allows you to thrive within supportive teams committed to shared success.
