About the Role

We are hiring a Field Service & Sales Engineer to be based in Singapore. This hybrid role involves on-site commissioning and servicing of water treatment systems, coupled with aftermarket sales responsibilities. You will work closely with global clients to ensure system performance and promote ongoing service solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Service & Operations (Approx. 70%)

  • Commission, troubleshoot, and maintain high-purity water systems (e.g. RO, ultrafiltration, vapor compression stills).
  • Diagnose faults in pumps, valves, PLCs, and instrumentation.
  • Perform hands-on repairs and generate technical reports.
  • Operate and support mechanical/electrical systems on-site.
  • Conduct client training and provide feedback to engineering teams.

Aftermarket Sales & Client Support (Approx. 30%)

  • Promote and manage service contract renewals and spare parts sales.
  • Prepare quotations, track orders, and manage inventory using HubSpot CRM.
  • Build strong client relationships through proactive communication and visits.
  • Respond to aftersales queries and occasional out-of-hours support needs.
  • Assist with trade shows, client seminars, and project coordination.
Requirements

Core Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering fields.
  • Willing and able to travel internationally with short notice (≥50%).
  • Proficient in reading P&IDs, CAD drawings, and electrical schematics.
  • Strong hands-on repair and troubleshooting skills.
  • Independent, self-driven, and professional in client interactions.

Preferred Experience

  • PLC programming (Allen Bradley / Siemens).
  • Familiarity with rotating equipment (e.g., centrifugal pumps, compressors).
  • Exposure to control systems and industrial instrumentation.

Job Requirements:

  • Must possess a recognized appropriate craft qualification reached through apprenticeship and achievement of City & Guilds Certification or other equivalent, with a minimum of five years’ experience in the oil and gas industry and of inspection and gauging practices

  • A formal qualification in a mechanical engineering discipline to at least ITE or equivalent level is desirable.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of specifications relative to OCTG and related oil industry equipment.

  • Experience in tube production finishing and inspection of OCTG material inclusive of assembly make-up, rig ready / rig return, rig remote graph review, observing pressure testing.

  • The role requires knowledge, understanding and application of company Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and Safe Working Practices and to ensure compliance with all relevant H&S requirements (statutory and company) by self and those assigned.

  • Good user knowledge of Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook), as the postholder will require to monitor and interpret operational data and produce technical reports.

  • Possess excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be able to react promptly, make decisions under pressure, and use initiative when dealing with Company related matters.

  • Must demonstrate a flexible and innovative approach to problem solving.

  • Be able to operate, ensuring the proper use and care of, company plant and equipment, machinery, personal equipment, test equipment and tool kit.

  • Willing to travel globally (mainly SEA) on as business needed basis with short notice given.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Pre-commission, commission, and service static frequency converters (SFC) and variable frequency (VFD) low voltage and medium voltage drives/switchgear/transformers and power systems.
  • Provide technical assistance and supervision to customers on the installations.
  • Conduct on-site interpretation of data and technical instruction.
  • Provide management with complete and prompt information and report regarding safety & project/service status, customer or equipment problems, and failures,
  • Provide technical assistance through on-site guidance and training in proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of assigned programs and ground support equipment.
  • Provide and assist quality team with root cause analysis and generate reports in case of equipment malfunction or failures to identify/analyse any undesirable trends.
  • Complete site documentations such as weekly safety update, installations check lists, pre-commissioning, and commissioning procedures.
  • Hands-on on-site parts replacement, testing, and verification of electrical equipment.
  • Adhere with company Health and Safety policies and work in safe and best practice manner to ensure the wellbeing of personnel and equipment are not compromised.
  • Able to interface at upper management and peers levels of the organization both internally and externally in clear and methodical manner

Qualification/Requirements

  • Electrical engineering bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited university or college
  • Solid understanding of Power Electronics, Electric Circuit, Electric Power Systems, Medium Voltage, Harmonics, with good hands-on skill.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers. Good literacy in at least one computer programming language.
  • Hands-on experience and knowledge of test instruments (recorders, power analysers, oscilloscopes, Insulation resistance, HI pot etc.)
  • Comfortable to sail on marine vessels if needed and remain offshore for defined number of days.
  • Willing to travel including distant in-country or aboard limited duration visits and with short notice in advance
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety, and risks / Hazards involved.

Position Title: Field Service Technician

Position Location: Singapore

Job Purpose

  • Support revenue targets and contribute to the achievement of company’s business goals by support customer technical support requirements. Key supporting role in technical support including pre and post installation, assist in project management for related mechanical and electronic hardware projects.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide technical support to customers/projects and resolve issues in timely manner.
  • Attending service calls during and after office hours.
  • Assist in project management to coordinate different stakeholders, problems solving and ensure successful completion with achieving targets of time, quality, and cost.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with distributors, developers, construction companies and security consultants.
  • Assist management with tasks as and when required.

Job Specification

Job Knowledge / Technical Skills / Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years work experience in building materials/products industry or related products requiring field support within construction industry or building (commercial/residential) operations and/or maintenance.
  • Higher Nitec/Nitec in mechanical/electronic engineering or other suitable technical discipline.
  • Accurate data entry and organization skills
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and keen to learn additional work-related computer applications.
  • Proficient in Auto CAD software applications is a plus.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Possesses valid Singapore driver’s license.
