Job Description
You will provide direction and assistance to work group to meet assigned objectives. You will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. Most job is required to travel to customer site, planning over than 90% travel in home country and to other countries.
**Job Description**
**Essential Responsibilities**
· Pre-commission, commission, and service static frequency converters (SFC) and variable frequency (VFD) low voltage and medium voltage drives/switchgear/transformers and power systems.
· Provide technical assistance and supervision to customers on the installations.
· Conduct on-site interpretation of data and technical instruction.
· Provide management with complete and prompt information and report regarding safety & project/service status, customer or equipment problems, and failures,
· Provide technical assistance through on-site guidance and training in proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of assigned programs and ground support equipment.
· Provide and assist quality team with root cause analysis and generate reports in case of equipment malfunction or failures to identify/analyse any undesirable trends.
· Complete site documentations such as weekly safety update, installations check lists, pre-commissioning, and commissioning procedures.
· Hands-on on-site parts replacement, testing, and verification of electrical equipment.
· Adhere with company Health and Safety policies and work in safe and best practice manner to ensure the wellbeing of personnel and equipment are not compromised.
· Able to interface at upper management and peers levels of the organization both internally and externally in clear and methodical manner
**Qualification/Requirements**
· Electrical engineering bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited university or college
· Solid understanding of Power Electronics, Electric Circuit, Electric Power Systems, Medium Voltage, Harmonics, with good hands-on skill.
· Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers. Good literacy in at least one computer programming language.
· Hands-on experience and knowledge of test instruments (recorders, power analysers, oscilloscopes, Insulation resistance, HI pot etc.)
· Comfortable to sail on marine vessels if needed and remain offshore for defined number of days.
· Willing to travel including distant in-country or aboard limited duration visits and with short notice in advance
· Good understanding of Health and Safety, and risks / Hazards involved.

The Field Service Engineer (FSE) is responsible for driving Leica's field service operations forward through the Danaher Business System, focusing on continuous improvement of operational metrics, optimization of resources, and team support. This role ensures customer satisfaction through training, break-fix service, preventive maintenance, installation, contract delivery, and by identifying service sales opportunities across Leica's portfolio of microscopy solutions.
This position reports to the Service Manager, SEA and is part of the Service Organization, covering Southeast Asia with regional travel.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and service Leica microscopes and software for both direct customers and indirect business through channel partners, ensuring uptime through preventive maintenance and effective issue resolution.
+ Achieve key service metrics (Revenue/Order Growth, TTR, First-Time Fix, Utilization/Productivity, CES) while ensuring compliance with EHS standards.
+ Partner with cross-functional teams and identify service sales leads to drive customer success and business growth.
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Technical degree or equivalent with multiple years of field service experience.
+ Strong technical aptitude with proven troubleshooting and analytical skills.
+ Willingness and ability to travel within the SEA region.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Biomedical engineering training or prior field service experience in life sciences.
+ Knowledge or training on Leica microscopy products.
+ Experience in handling lasers in confocal microscopy.
