  • Provide legal support on general commercial and construction documentation, including tender documents, RFPs, and building contract administration.
  • Assist with legal aspects of financial and commercial issues related to real estate development and infrastructure works, as required.

Key responsibilities

  • Report to the Senior Legal Counsel and assist and maintain a close working relationship with UK Legal Team and wider Global Legal Team.
  • Support the Legal Team and Senior Management team to deliver the objectives of the region.

    • Business Operations Team – reviewing responses to client complaints, including assisting with responses or engagement with the relevant external disputes body; and
    • Marketing Team – assisting with the review and advice on a range of matters, such as reviewing or preparing promotional terms, reviewing communications to clients and marketing endeavours in different jurisdictions.
  • Close involvement with a range of stakeholders in relation to various projects undertaken by the business. Ensuring that Legal is engaged at the appropriate time, to ensure due consideration of issues and timely advice is provided, to effectively support any project.
  • Establish effective working relationships with members of the business and external legal providers.
  • Provide legal input as required into group policies and procedures from time to time.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A mid-level lawyer in Singapore with 3 to 5 years of Post Qualification Experience is required.
  • Experience and knowledge in local laws is required.
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to communicate complex legal issues in verbal and written reports.
  • Excellent organisation, analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Ability and desire to work autonomously on a day-to-day basis .
  • Willingness to learn and tackle new challenges.
  • A Singapore qualified lawyer, but lawyers from other jurisdictions with extensive experience of Singapore laws and regulations will be considered.
  • General corporate and commercial experience required. Experience in the financial services industry preferred but not essential.
