The Classroom Assistant supports the Classroom Teacher and wider school team in the delivery of quality teaching and learning to all students. Job Duties and Responsibilities
o Welcome the children in their classroom, at the start of the day.
o Supervise and accompany the children during recess, meals, some activities, nap time, when the
buses arrive and when they depart from school, help them with dressing, undressing, and changing when and where needed (with a follow-up on autonomy development); Prepare snack and mealtime, assist when and where needed.
o Ensure that personal hygiene and safety rules are respected in all pertinent places such as the classrooms, stairs, corridors, playground etc.; Clean, tidy up and store the school’s equipment throughout the day, as well as at the end of the day.
o Maintain classroom organization and procedures (including supervision and rest time) as indicated by teacher: prepare and supervise activities, maintain classroom stationery, store student work in order.
o Instigate preventative measures to minimise accidents in the classroom and other areas. o Reinforce children’s positive attitudes and behaviour.
o Refer parents to teachers with specific enquiries regarding education, welfare, social and
emotional development, student interactions and concerns.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the guidance of the classroom teacher, the classroom assistant will facilitate the learning and development of individuals or groups of learners. The job holder is also responsible for maintaining an engaging and purposeful learning environment, ensuring the smooth running of the class and carrying out appropriate administrative tasks.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the classroom teacher to maintain a safe, healthy and stimulating learning environment
- Support the personal and social development of learners
- Help learners to learn as effectively as possible both in group situations and on their own, by assisting through:
- Clarifying and explaining instructions and provide written and verbal feedback
- Ensuring the learners are able to use the equipment and materials provided
- Assisting in motivating and encouraging the learners as required
- Contributing to areas requiring reinforcement or development, such as language development and positive engagement
- Promoting independent learning
- Assume responsibility for supervising groups of children, or individual children on specified activities, including learning tasks, library activities, CCAs, school trips and use of IT
- Provide continuity of adult care of learners, for example, supervising daily playtimes, transition times between classes and at the start/end of the day, support in specialist classes, as well as toileting
- Liaise with the School Nurse for administration of first aid/medicine where necessary
- Assist the classroom teacher in checking communication books and recording class attendance on a daily basis
- Assist with basic record-keeping, including collecting evidence of learning on individual learners, such as taking photographs and making observations
- Assist in the efficient preparation, maintenance and use of classroom teaching materials and equipment, including organising the use of AV and IT equipment, photocopying and laminating
- Attend staff meetings, participate in performance management arrangements and undertake training and development activities
- Be willing to attend and become involved in any professional development opportunities, and adopt an attitude of professional reflection and continuous improvement
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Minimum O level education and equivalent (as per CPE guidelines), or higher qualification (Eg. Diploma, Degree)
- At least two (2) years of relevant working experience
- A demonstrated and genuine passion for education and a desire to facilitate children’s learning
- Possess strong IT skills and knowledge, for example Apple devices and Google applications
- Communicate effectively in Standard English both orally and in writing
- Establish and maintain positive learning-focused relationships with colleagues, learners and parents
- To manage the physical demands of the role (eg: able to lift/carry a child weighing up to 25kg; routinely sitting on child sized chairs, kneeling, bending and crouching)
- High standards and expectations for themselves and the learners

Job DescriptionThe incumbent will be responsible for supporting the core functions of the MSc degree programmes which includes student life, experiential learning, and administration matters.
Corporate Relationship Development- Establish corporate contacts through a systematic outreach process, follow up on new business projects generation opportunities, maintain working relationships and set up meetings
- Pitch initiatives to corporates, specifically in positioning and securing business projects for our respective MSc programmes
- Scope the business projects with the company, establish an understanding of the objectives, guidelines for workload, deliverables, resources and financial support
- Solicit for feedback on our students’ performances to make recommendations for improvements on projects and associated activities
- Feature success stories prominently in our marketing collaterals and channels such as brochures, websites and e-blasts to encourage more participation from different corporate partners
- Cultivate a sustainable longer-term relationship with corporate partners for further collaborations such as corporate marketing, company visits, recruitment of graduates and sponsorship for various MSc programmes initiatives
- Collate a list of business projects, disseminate to our respective MSc students for enrolment, and where needed, conduct interviews for the allocation of projects
- Conduct briefings to students who are undertaking business projects
- Coordinate coaching workshops/classes to prepare students for their undertaking of business projects
- Work with Heads of Departments in appointing project supervisors, including briefing faculty advisors on the role, responsibilities and scope of projects
- Facilitate the first meeting for companies to meet with student groups, where timelines, milestone achievements and deliverables are set and arrange initial face-to-face / Skype sessions with companies
- Obtain the necessary approvals from the academic departments and the MSc Programmes Office
- Monitor and ensure that the students make good progress in completing their business projects and where needed, to help guide and mentor students on their projects, providing feedback as part of evaluation as a consistent moderating party across projects
- Work with corporate partners constantly to ensure that the students get information and meetings at the right time so they can complete the projects on time
- Collate the grading reports for the Experiential Learning module, and get company approval for case-release, if appropriate
- Work with relevant parties to ensure timely and accurate grade entry for the students for their Experiential Learning module
