About the team

The Solutions Architecture team is responsible for ensuring the safe and effective deployment of Generative AI applications for developers and enterprises. We act as a trusted advisor and thought partner for our customers, working to build an effective backlog of GenAI use cases for their industry and drive them to production through strong technical guidance. OpenAI's customers represent a range of diverse backgrounds and maturity, from early-stage startups to established global enterprises.

About the Role

We are seeking a technically proficient, business-minded Solutions Architect to help push the frontier of advanced AI with our strategic startup customers. You'll work with some of the most exciting AI startups in the world, guiding them through ideation, development, delivery, and scaling to accelerate and maximize the value of what they build on our platform. You will have the opportunity to work on the most novel and creative use cases being built on our API, serving as a critical partner in collecting and delivering high-fidelity product and model feedback internally. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Applied Research, and Product teams, and you will report to the Startups Solutions Architecture Lead.

This role is based in Singapore. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.

In this role, you will:

  • Partner closely with strategic startup customers as their technical thought partner to build novel applications on our API, helping them rapidly move from ideation to scale.

  • Provide proactive guidance to maximize business impact and accelerate application development.

  • Experiment and prototype alongside customers, demonstrating practical use cases.

  • Contribute to open-source resources and scale the function by sharing knowledge, codifying best practices, and publishing useful resources.

  • Synthesize and deliver valuable feedback to the Product and Research teams.

  • Build relationships within the startup ecosystem, serving as a technical partner to both individual customers and the broader community.

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have 5+ years of experience as a software engineer, ML engineer or equivalent, ideally in a startup environment; experience as a founder or founding engineer is highly valued.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5-8 years of technology related sales, business development, sales engineering/consulting or equivalent experience

We are looking for technical builders who love the idea of working with early stage startups to help them as they grow. In this role, you’ll work directly with a variety of interesting customers and help them make the best (and sometimes the most pragmatic) technical decisions along the way. You’ll have a chance to build enduring relationships with these companies and establish yourself as a trusted advisor.

As a member of the AWS Startups team, you will work directly with customers to help them successfully leverage AWS technology at scale.

Along with spending time working directly with customers, you’ll also get plenty of time to learn new technologies and keep your skills fresh. We have 200+ services across a range of different categories and it’s important that we can help startups take advantages of the right ones. You’ll also play an important role as an advocate with our product teams to make sure we are building the right products and features for the startups you work with. And for the customers you don’t get to work with on a 1:1 basis you’ll share knowledge more broadly by working on technical content and presenting at events.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Key job responsibilities

  • Help a diverse range of early and late stage startups to adopt the right architecture at each part of their lifecycle
  • Support startups in architecting scalable, reliable and secure solutions
  • Support adoption of a broad range of AWS services to deliver business value and accelerate growth

In this fast-moving business, the core responsibility is to ensure that new and high-potential startups choose AWS as their cloud platform to transform and accelerate their business. We work backwards from the customer and partner with technical team members, business development, and stakeholders to lead scaled Go-to-Market strategies, accelerate adoption and drive customer success.

You will align closely with counterparts in business development, marketing, solution architecture and partner teams to lead execution of coordinated go-to-market strategies and sales plays. You will also work closely with business development teams who are driving strategic support, global co-programming, and portfolio engagement to help drive top-of-funnel customer acquisition and accelerate seller cycles in the field.
