About the team

The Solutions Architecture team is responsible for ensuring the safe and effective deployment of Generative AI applications for developers and enterprises. We act as a trusted advisor and thought partner for our customers, working to build an effective backlog of GenAI use cases for their industry and drive them to production through strong technical guidance. OpenAI's customers represent a range of diverse backgrounds and maturity, from early-stage startups to established global enterprises.

About the Role

We are seeking a technically proficient, business-minded Solutions Architect to help push the frontier of advanced AI with our strategic startup customers. You'll work with some of the most exciting AI startups in the world, guiding them through ideation, development, delivery, and scaling to accelerate and maximize the value of what they build on our platform. You will have the opportunity to work on the most novel and creative use cases being built on our API, serving as a critical partner in collecting and delivering high-fidelity product and model feedback internally. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Applied Research, and Product teams, and you will report to the Startups Solutions Architecture Lead.

This role is based in Singapore. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.

In this role, you will:

  • Partner closely with strategic startup customers as their technical thought partner to build novel applications on our API, helping them rapidly move from ideation to scale.

  • Provide proactive guidance to maximize business impact and accelerate application development.

  • Experiment and prototype alongside customers, demonstrating practical use cases.

  • Contribute to open-source resources and scale the function by sharing knowledge, codifying best practices, and publishing useful resources.

  • Synthesize and deliver valuable feedback to the Product and Research teams.

  • Build relationships within the startup ecosystem, serving as a technical partner to both individual customers and the broader community.

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have 5+ years of experience as a software engineer, ML engineer or equivalent, ideally in a startup environment; experience as a founder or founding engineer is highly valued.

  • Have passion for startups and a belief in their potential to become future large enterprises.

  • Are proficient in Python, JavaScript, and a strong grasp of AI/LLM best practices.

  • Built and/or delivered prototypes on top of our API platform.

  • Can proactively identify opportunities for maximizing our customers’ business value through leveraging the OpenAI API.

  • Own problems end-to-end and are willing to pick up whatever knowledge you're missing to get the job done.

  • Have a humble attitude, an eagerness to help your colleagues, and a desire to do whatever it takes to make the team succeed.

  • Are an effective, high throughput operator who can drive multiple concurrent projects and prioritize ruthlessly.

What you’ll do

As a Sales Lead for Startups at Airwallex, you will be at the forefront of our mission to empower startups across Singapore. You will be a key driver in establishing Airwallex as the default financial platform for this dynamic and rapidly growing segment. This is a high-impact role with significant responsibility for driving customer acquisition, revenue growth, and market share expansion for our key products.

This role is based in Singapore.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for the startup segment in Singapore. Define our value proposition, refine sales pitches, and adapt strategies based on performance data and market trends.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and partners in the startup ecosystem, including founders, investors, accelerators, and incubators.

  • Represent Airwallex at industry events and networking functions, building brand awareness and thought leadership within the startup community.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted campaigns that resonate with the startup audience and generate qualified leads.

  • Present Airwallex’s value proposition to potential clients, demonstrating how our solutions can address their specific needs and fuel their growth.

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of sales and cross-functional team members. Coach them on sales methodologies, strategies, and best practices to maximize their effectiveness.

  • Implement sales frameworks and methodologies to optimize team performance and drive consistent results.

  • Monitor sales metrics and prepare regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitive landscape.

  • Provide feedback to product and engineering teams based on client interactions and market feedback to enhance our offerings and ensure product-market fit.

Who you are

We're looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Prior experience in a Management Consulting & Sales is highly preferred

  • Proven experience in leading and managing a high-performing sales team in a high growth startup.

  • Deep understanding of the local/regional startup ecosystem.

As a Senior Account Manager for Startups at Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will be the strategic lead responsible for driving cloud adoption within a group of stellar startups at the forefront of machine learning development.
AWS offers a complete set of cloud services that enable all companies, from startups to enterprises, to run virtually everything in the cloud, including application development, model training, big data analytics, and AI/ML platforms.
Startups, represent a critically important subset of customers to AWS. These companies have unique needs, technical considerations, sales cycles, and growth trajectories that distinguish them from traditional companies. These businesses require different engagement strategies and sales motions from sellers to effectively acquire, grow, and retain them on the AWS platform long-term. As AWS continues to rapidly grow, we seek a Startup Account Manager to earn trust and help drive growth amongst a set of well-funded, high-potential startups.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong sales acumen, knowledge of the startup ecosystem, a passion for (and familiarity with) machine learning trends. You will be working with startups building cutting edge AI and ML solutions, so extensive collaboration with external contacts and internal teams will be key to build and execute on plans to meet and exceed sales quota. Your responsibilities will include driving revenue, crafting partnerships, accelerating innovation through service adoption, and ensuring these startups select AWS as their primary cloud provider.
You will align closely with counterparts in business development, marketing, solution architecture and partner teams to lead execution of coordinated go-to-market strategies and sales plays. You will also work closely with business development teams who are driving strategic support, global co-programming, and portfolio engagement to help drive top-of-funnel customer acquisition and accelerate seller cycles in the field.
Candidates will be working with startups building cutting edge AI and ML solutions and should have a good understanding of machine learning technologies and how startups are using them to enhance services and processes for end customers. The team is responsible for maintaining awareness of global trends in technology, startups, and venture capital, using this intelligence to guide the Startup business in their approach to startup customers – all within an environment of rapid growth and increasing complexity.

As a trusted advisor to the Startup leadership team, the Startups GTM Ops Lead will provide strategic insights and recommendations based on in-depth analysis of sales coverage, total addressable market, customer segmentation, and other key areas. This position will lead time-sensitive executive responses and conduct comprehensive data analyses to inform leadership decisions. Additionally, they will oversee strategic, cross-functional initiatives including go-to-market motions, organizational design, incentive compensation modeling, and resource deployment, while driving operational planning processes and leading executive response efforts.

Key job responsibilities

The successful candidate must have strong sales operations experience, with a strong understanding of the startup ecosystem and life-cycle stages.   • Support the evolution and roadmap of the AWS platform and services, connecting our engineering teams with our customers for feedback
  • Establish and build technical relationships within the startup ecosystem, including founders, key technical decision makers and investors
  • Develop startup specific technical content, such as blog posts, sample code and solutions, to assist customers solve technical problems and reduce time-to-market
