A leading multi-billion dollar proprietary trading firm is seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join its high-impact Infrastructure team. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of scalable infrastructure to support quantitative research and batch computing workloads across both cloud and on-premise environments.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect & Optimize Infrastructure: Design and manage high-performance, resilient infrastructure across Google Cloud and on-premise environments to support large-scale research and trading workflows.
  • Lead Observability Initiatives: Own the end-to-end observability stack—monitoring, logging, alerting, and tracing—with tools like Prometheus, ELK, and ITRS Geneos to ensure system visibility and rapid incident response.
  • Drive Automation & Reliability: Champion GitOps and CI/CD best practices using tools like Argo CD and GitLab CI. Build and maintain Kubernetes clusters and HPC/batch processing systems using Argo Workflows.
  • Incident Response & Production Readiness: Take ownership of infrastructure and application stability, performing root cause analysis and resolving complex issues in live trading and research environments.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner closely with developers, researchers, and quants to improve tooling, reduce manual overhead, and enhance system reliability.
  • Promote an SRE Culture: Embed reliability engineering principles across the organization and mentor other engineers in best practices.

Ideal Candidate Background

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in SRE, platform engineering, or infrastructure roles—preferably in trading, research, or high-performance computing environments.
  • Deep knowledge of Kubernetes (design and operations), GitOps workflows (Argo CD), and CI/CD tooling.
  • Solid programming skills in Python or Go for automation and tooling.
  • Proven experience managing and scaling monitoring and observability platforms.
  • Practical knowledge of cloud infrastructure (GCP or AWS) and bare-metal/on-premise systems.
  • Experience supporting batch or HPC workloads and research environments.
  • Confident handling live production incidents and collaborating across engineering and trading functions.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.

  • Experience building or operating Kubernetes operators
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)

Key job responsibilities
- Serve as a key member of the Global Backbone Network Development team helping to drive overall Network Infrastructure strategy.
- Execute strategic backbone network plans and provide regular progress updates.
- Identify suppliers and develop technical and commercial solutions that solve for wavelengths, dark fibre and submarine cable capacity.
- Organize, track, and coordinate with vendors and internal teams to deliver new backbone capacity for Amazon.
- Work with capacity planners and engineers to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective network topology is delivered.
- Work closely with finance partners, collaborating on budget creation, business case development, deal analysis, and supplier invoicing.

Basic Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in an IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

The Role

Test Engineering is a performance-driven team focused on cost, quality, and time-to-market, ensuring the availability of AMD Data Center Graphics products for customers.

  • Pre-silicon responsibilities include gaining a deep understanding of product features, developing test plans and requirements, and building the software and hardware infrastructure necessary for execution. This role involves collaboration with Design and Platform Engineering, providing valuable test enhancement feedback for future designs.
  • Post-silicon responsibilities focus on delivering comprehensive test coverage on schedule and executing characterization plans. This may involve debugging silicon test performance issues, addressing yield challenges, optimizing manufacturing processes, and resolving device marginalities. The Test Engineer will work closely with Design and Platform Engineering to identify root causes stemming from debug, characterization, and margin analysis.

This role focuses on developing and refining test methodologies, building test program infrastructure, analyzing data, designing hardware DIB, and supporting IP development. Ideal for a creative problem-solver who thrives on challenges and enjoys sharing knowledge with teammates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the development of test program infrastructure and IP methodologies.
  • Create tools that streamline data retrieval for both pre-silicon and post-silicon processes.
  • Develop solutions that simplify 93K test program creation while minimizing human errors.
  • Develop tools to enhance data analysis—covering test time, test coverage, and other metrics—to identify and resolve issues, improve quality, and accelerate decision-making.


Preferred Experience

  • At least 8 years of industry experience required. Candidates with less experience but a proven track record in 93K test program infrastructure and tools development are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong understanding of AI concepts and methodologies, with the ability to integrate them into tools development.
  • Excellent communication skills, including proficiency in data analysis and presentation.
  • Expertise in Unix and Windows environments, along with strong programming skills in C++, Java, Perl, Python, and Ruby scripting.
  • Hands-on experience in ATE test handling, execution, and development—Advantest V93K experience preferred.
