- Job Description: As a skilled trades specialist, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine the requirements of a project. You will take precise measurements and calculate the necessary materials needed for each task.
- Taking Measurements: Using calibrated equipment, you will accurately measure and record the dimensions of various structures and components. This information will be used to plan and execute the construction process.
- Cutting and Shaping Materials: With precision cutting tools, you will cut and shape lumber and other materials according to specifications. This may involve using specialized equipment such as saws and grinders.
- Installation and Construction: You will install structural components such as windows, molding, and doorframes. Additionally, you will construct and install building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes.
- Maintenance and Repair: In this role, you will perform minor masonry and concrete work as needed. You will also repair doors, operators, and door frames to ensure the overall integrity of the structure.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. However, a certificate or degree in a related field (e.g., carpentry, construction management) would be advantageous.
- Work Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in a related trade or industry is preferred.
- Skill Set: Strong attention to detail, ability to read and interpret technical documents, proficiency in the use of power tools and equipment, excellent physical stamina, and strong communication skills are essential.
