The Opportunity

As Teneo continues to grow its operations in Asia-Pacific, we are looking for a Director to join our Consulting team in Singapore.

Our global management consulting division focuses on answering key strategic questions for business and public-sector leaders through our mix of senior experience and rigorous analysis, combined with the unique expertise that exists across Teneo. We operate across a diverse array of sectors including Consumer Goods, Healthcare, Leisure & Hospitality, Software, Transport, and TMT, amongst others. Within these markets, we provide strategic, operational, and due diligence support, advising reputable FTSE 100 and Fortune 500 firms, key public-sector organisations, and leading private equity houses.

The Role

As a Director, you’ll be a key member of our senior team in Management Consulting. Your focus will be on delighting clients through delivering great work, while growing and developing our team. With the support of our Managing Directors, you will also establish and nurture client relationships and build out new business opportunities. This role will serve leading companies in energy and infrastructure on complex issues surrounding policy, technology and innovation, growth, financial strategy, with a particular focus on sustainability and decarbonisation. Typical clients you will encounter in this role include global utilities, IPPs, renewable/energy storage/EV infrastructure, investors, equipment manufacturers, private equity and pension fund investors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Structure and lead complex projects, working directly with a Managing Director
  • Demonstrate a strong consulting skill set, with the ability to lead complex analytical programs, drive towards bespoke insights for clients, and structure written output
  • Develop the “answer” from initial hypothesis through refinement and validation with senior colleagues and clients
  • Proven ability managing case teams on a day-to-day basis, including delegating and planning workload, and providing coaching and development support to junior colleagues
  • Build consensus and momentum toward critical outcomes for our clients, with the intelligent use of data and analysis to support and progress our thinking
  • Support Managing Directors in all aspects of Business Development, including identifying and building out opportunities with existing clients, developing thought leadership, drafting proposals, and attending pitches
  • Able to handle day-to-day liaison with senior clients, empathizing with their issues and escalating concerns where appropriate to Managing Directors. Able to build lasting relationships with clients beyond the scope of a specific project engagement
  • Leads presentations confidently and engagingly, effectively presenting our output to the client

Key Skills & Experience

  • 12– 15 years’ relevant work experience ideally within a Strategy or Management Consulting environment, including a track record of leading major strategic programmes of work
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any relevant degree discipline (e.g. in finance, engineering, economics, or a similar quantitative field). A postgraduate degree is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated interest and experience in energy transition and sustainability targets
  • A proven track record of leading full client/consulting teams through a complete engagement
  • Native level written and spoken English is essential; additional language competencies at business communication level would be an advantage
  • Highly logical and numerate, with excellent analytical skills naturally inclined to use quantitative tools
  • An entrepreneurial attitude: Passionate, highly intellectually curious, results-orientated, and self-starting

What a Consulting Director – Portfolio Optimisation Practice, Asia Pacific does at VISA:

As a Director in our Portfolio Optimisation Practice, you will play a pivotal role in developing and expanding our Portfolio Optimisation consulting services across the Asia Pacific region, focusing on key priority areas that will grow both Visa’s and the client’s business. One of the key priority areas will be issuer optimization. Potential projects include product design and launch, sales acquisition channel optimization, portfolio management diagnostics, customer lifecycle management, portfolio migrations, and identifying the roadmap and strategic initiatives to lead to implementation workstreams as a follow-up. As a Director in our Portfolio Optimisation Practice, you will play a pivotal role in developing and expanding our Portfolio Optimisation consulting services across the Asia Pacific region, focusing on key priority areas that will grow both Visa’s and the client’s business. One of the key priority areas will be issuer optimization. Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Consultant / Manager within the Resiliency and business continuity team, you will participate in and supervise multiple client engagement teams and other related activities. Engagements focus on the advisory services in development, implementation or assessment on the client’s resiliency, crisis management and business continuity capability, strategies and solutions; including risk assessments, business impact analyses, strategy selection, and documentation of respective procedures. This also includes plan and conduct a mock-business continuity exercises to test the client’s adequacy of existing plans and strategies.

You will serve as a fieldwork leader to assist clients in employing proper resiliency, crisis management and business continuity measures, resources, and solutions to minimize risk.

You will work with client personnel to analyze, evaluate, and enhance their resiliency and business continuity capability.

  • Collaborate with other members of the engagement team to plan the engagement and develop project plan, work program, timelines, risk assessments, and other planning documents.
  • Work with the engagement team to develop resiliency, crisis management or business continuity framework, plan, programme and capability as per client’s requirements.
  • Serve as a fieldwork leader by directing the daily progress of fieldwork, informing supervisors of engagement status, and managing staff performance
  • Demonstrate and apply a thorough understanding of resiliency, crisis management and business continuity management subject.
  • Use knowledge of the current business environment, leading practices (i.e. ISO 22316, ISO 22301, BS 11200 and other standards as applicable) and industry trends to identify the engagement and client service issues, and communicate this information to the engagement team and client management through written correspondence and verbal presentations

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A recognized university degree in accounting, business, information technology, or other relevant discipline with 5-7 years of working experiences
  • A minimum of 3 years of exposure in Business Continuity Management industry
  • Experience in all key Business Continuity Management disciplines
  • Experience as a business/ IT auditor or business/ IT risk adviser for a public accounting firm, a professional services firm, or within industry will be an advantage
  • Reasonable understanding of Operational risk and resilience, Business Process improvement methods as well as risk related control frameworks and practices (COCO, COSO, ISO, ITIL, CMM, COBIT, etc.)
  • Reasonable understanding of business process, services and supporting IT environment on the public and private sector.
