About the Role:

We are looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join the Zimplistic R&D team in Singapore. As part of your job, you will be conducting development and applied research activities to improve and generate new products, subcomponents, features, and processes for Zimplistic kitchen robots of the future.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities:

  • Undertake research, generate and conceptualize new ideas, concepts, solutions, and product improvements from user, quality, and cost aspects
  • Apply creative and innovative thinking to provide solutions by analyzing the performance and feasibility of multiple alternative concepts & prove the concept/s.
  • Perform early draft design by applying systematic and analytical problem-solving methods to make technical decisions that are safe, functional, and validated.
  • Building proof of concepts, simulations and delivering prototypes, collaborating with stakeholders’ by selecting components, procuring and hands-on assembly
  • Develop and execute design verification and validation test plan to ensure prototype meets design requirements and specifications
  • Support the development process by collecting feedback/ data for design improvement and enhancement from customer engineering and production.

What You’ll Need To Succeed:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 7 years’ of relevant experience in Mechanical R&D
  • Lots of passion and curiosity for your craft and your field
  • Experience in Medical, Printers, or complex electromechanical device industries is advantageous
  • Hands-on attitude required
  • Good 3D CAD design expertise
  • Applied mechanical engineering and good design practice, e.g. DFSS
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability
  • Innovative & creative thinking
  • Well acquainted with prototyping, testing & manufacturing processes

We are seeking to hire a part-time research assistant to develop of next-generation computational tools for simulating two-phase flows by integrating advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques with traditional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methods. The role focuses on transitioning legacy CFD solvers to modern, Python-based AI frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, JAX), targeting high-efficiency, scalable simulations of water-air systems transport. The successful candidate will contribute to the creation of an AI-optimized platform capable of achieving up to 50× speedups in simulation performance, enabling real-time, energy-efficient modelling for complex multiscale flow phenomena relevant to coastal engineering. This position is central to advancing AI-augmented fluid dynamics and delivering an open, sustainable simulation tool for the research and engineering community.

The Service Engineer is responsible to perform all medical devices maintenance according to GDPMDS requirement. The incumbent also has to establish good rapport, both externally with customers/vendors and internally amongst colleagues.

Job Scope

Desired Qualities and Skillsets

  • B.Eng in Engineering (Mechanical), or related experience.

  • Conversant in Rotating Mechanical Equipment, Air Compressors, Product Pumps and packages, fire-fighting pumps and equipment, marine loading arm, gas turbine, steam turbine, conveyor system, etc.
  • Familiar with related industrial codes including ASME B&PV, API, ANSI, ISO, relating to equipment mechanical design.
  • Experience in Testing & Commissioning and Operations will be an added advantage.
  • Competent for static equipment design, such as tank storage, pressure vessel, will be added advantage
  • Strong interest and experience in Energy Transition and Transformation, will be an added advantage
  • Strong writing skills, verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to be an independent problem solver
  • Team player and ability to work with and manage clients and contractors will be an added advantage.
