Summary:
Conducts fire safety inspections and drill, initiates fire prevention and response training to designated personnel . Controls and extinguishes aircraft , structures, and other fires to protect people, resources and the environment . Supervise firefighters that drive and operates a range of fire fighting vehicles and equipment .
Position Responsibilities :
Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
Complies with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals.
Provide documentation to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequat e and legal documentation.
Implements as assigned, the fire protection programs that conform to the United States Antarctic Program, including the operation of the ASC contract locations in Antarctica.
Responsible for day-to-day operations or as directed by the Fire Captain. Conducts inspections and ensures the operations are conducted according to the Fire Department SOP's and NFPA gu idelines.
Schedules weekly inspections for all work centers, tracks violations and completed inspections.
Issues violation notices to work centers and conduct follow up inspections.
Coordinates dormitory evacuation drills with site management.
Responsible for daily entry of equipment, training data, and all dep artment activities in software.
Performs and supervises training of Fire Department personnel and fire sa fety training for the community.
Interacts with agency officials and the community in a professional and tactful manner.
Provide dispatching duty as requested to support mission operations.
Provides supervision to firefighters and is responsible for pre-season and post-season written performance evaluations.
Handles confidential matters (personnel actions, management reports, etc.) in accordance with management policy.
Trains and orients employees on safety guidelines, quality assurance requirements and fire department goals.
Required to know and follow the SOP's and adhere to professional behavior both on duty and off duty.
Performs additional duties as assigned by the Captain .
Required Education, Experience, Certificates and Licenses :
High School diploma or GED
Four years previous full time firefighting experience, volunteer experience or paid on-call time; at least two of those years must be in a Fire Inspector role
IFSAC, Pro-Board/DoD, or State Certified Fire Officer I.
IFSAC, Pro-Board/DoD, or State Certified Fire Instructor I.
IFSAC, Pro-Board/DoD, or State Certified Firefighter II.
IFSAC, Pro-Board/DoD, or State Certified Fire Inspector II.
IFSAC, Pro-Board/DoD, or State Certified Airport Fire Fighter.
IFSAC, Pro-Board/DoD, or State Certified Hazardous Materials First Responder Operations Level.
CPR Certification.
National Incident Management System (NIMS): ICS 100 , 200, 700 and 8 00.
Expected Skills and Competencies:
Physical activities to include lifting up to the safety regulation maximum, climbing, crawling and dragging hose. Duties will be performed indoors and outdoors, and work may be performed in a variety of weather conditions including severe cold, wind, and limited visibility.
Preferred :
Associate of Science degree in Fire Science.
EMT-B or Paramedic.

Job Description
- Lead and develop a team of Safety Engineers and EHSS experts to promote safety awareness.
- Strategically drive best-in-class safety programs to reduce risk and prevent severe injuries.
- Develop section goals, priorities, performance metrics, and manage the section budget.
- Oversee all projects under the Safety Section, ensuring timely and quality execution.
- Ensure compliance with company EHS policies and global safety standards.
- Lead initiatives to ensure adherence to laws and regulations related to safety.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement in identifying and resolving employee safety concerns.
- Resolve vendor and service provider issues tied to performance, billing, or technical quality.
- Determine section needs and select professional services, equipment, and materials.
- Advise and manage Emergency Response protocols and readiness.
- Design and implement EHS training programs for employees and contractors.
- Drive a culture of safety through leadership, audits, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate and lead safety audits to maintain compliance with ISO45001, SS651, etc.
- Analyze safety data trends and develop action plans for improvement.
- Provide coaching and professional development to site personnel to elevate safety performance.
- Leads the Safety Section with full strategic, operational, and staffing responsibility, shaping the vision and execution of EHSS programs.
- Drives compliance with regulations (MOM, SCDF, NEA) and global standards (ISO45001, SS651), overseeing audits and securing permit validity.
- Integrates safety initiatives across departments and global teams, balancing short-term actions with long-term goals and financial/resource considerations.
- Identifies hazards, conducts audits and ergonomic assessments, and leads root-cause investigations. Designs impactful training programs for employees and contractors.
- Acts as subject matter expert and mentor, influencing senior decisions, fostering a safety-first culture, and continuously improving systems and processes.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Industrial Hygiene.
- Minimum 10–15 years of senior EHS management experience in a multinational, semiconductor, or related industry.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 (or OHSAS 18001), OSHA, SEMI, FM Global standards, and Responsible Business Alliance principles.
- Lead Auditor certification in ISO 14001, ISO 18001/45001 is advantageous.
- Proven ability to design and execute safety strategies in complex, cross-functional environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading audits, securing regulatory permits, and ensuring site compliance.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal communication.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (less than 10%).
