About the team

As a global team, we span across Australia, China, USA, and Singapore, revolutionizing applied data science, data engineering and platform solutions to support Airwallex's rapid growth. What you’ll do

We’re seeking a passionate, experienced Data Science Manager to lead our Growth Analytics team. This team drives data-driven decision-making and builds solutions that accelerate Airwallex’s growth. You will be a strategic partner to cross-functional leaders across Growth, Sales, Marketing, and Product to identify opportunities, optimize strategies, and unlock scalable growth using data science and analytics.

This role is based in Singapore.

Responsibilities:

• Operate as a strategic thought partner with Growth, Marketing, Sales, and Data Science leaders to define and implement Airwallex’s growth strategy

• Guide the team in applying a variety of data science techniques—root-cause analysis, statistical modeling, and experimentation—to identify opportunities and drive product-led growth (acquisition, activation, retention, reactivation)

• Establish insight-driven approaches to address key business problems and drive business impact

• Build scalable measurement frameworks that enable consistent, data-driven decision-making across teams and inform growth strategy

• Clearly and persuasively communicate data insights and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring findings influence stakeholders at all levels

• Translate open-ended business problems into clearly defined data science initiatives for the team to implement

• Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing and inclusive team of data scientists, fostering a collaborative environment

Who you are

We're looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.

Minimum qualifications:

• 8+ years industry experience and a degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Statistics, Engineering, Sciences, Computer Science, Economics). Advanced degree (PhD or MS) preferred

• 2+ years of management experience in data science or data analytics

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proven ability to build strong relationships and influence senior stakeholders across functions

• Demonstrated experience applying data science to drive growth initiatives with concrete impact

• Strong skills in SQL and Python/R; experience with data modeling a plus

Preferred qualification:

• Experience in technology, financial services and/or a high growth environment is advantageous

We are looking for an experienced Data Analytics/Science Manager who combines entrepreneurial mind-set, strong leadership qualities, and exceptional business acumen. This role involves steering our data team’s daily operations and driving the innovation of our data products. Your work will significantly enhance the data insights delivered to our B2B clients by utilizing a combination of internal and external datasets.

As an integral member of the SSON R&A team, you will take the lead in communicating the team’s strategic projects to various internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Leadership: Guide, motivate, and manage a lean team of data scientists and web developers to meet their targets regarding product volume, timeliness, completeness, and accuracy. Key duties include training, goal setting, resource allocation, performance management, and promoting staff development. Ensure meticulous documentation of all processes.
• Product Innovation and Process Improvement:
• Review and redesign data models and algorithms to ensure the accuracy and up-to-dateness of data products.
• Optimize the utilization of internal and external data sources and drive necessary changes and enhancements.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with senior leadership, sales, marketing, and tech partners to thoroughly understand, document, analyze, and convert customer needs into product priorities, roadmap plans, and detailed specifications

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree with a strong math and programming background with experience in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the analytics domain.
• Proven track record of solving challenging problems by applying Advanced Analytics (Predictive/Casual/Optimization).
• A minimum one year’s experience of managing and motivating a team within a commercial data/information operation, creating new metrics, indices, and performance measurement.
• Advanced usage of R and Python. Strong ability to analyze, interpret and present data using advanced graphing software e.g. Tableau, D3, QlikView, Highcharts, Superset.
• Experience with sourcing data sets from publicly available sources and indexing external websites.
• Experience with large data sets and ability to work with both structured and unstructured data.
• Familiarity with software development methodologies, e.g., Agile, Feature Driven Development, Rapid Application Development.
• Have a mindset to streamline and automate processes. Experience using AI tools and Foundational Models to automate processes or workflows would be highly advantageous.
• Expert analytical thinking and thought leadership skills, with a knack for communicating analytical findings to senior management.

Functional Description

Decision Science colleagues will serve as a key member of the Credit and Fraud Risk organization. We seek a thought-leader and a problem-solver who can blend business, technical, and industry best practices when it comes to developing the analyses, models, and algorithms that power our customers’ digital experiences.

This critical team is responsible for managing enterprise risks throughout the customer lifecycle, across our consumer and commercial businesses, and across all our global products. We develop industry-first data capabilities, build profitable decision-making frameworks, create machine learning-powered predictive models, and improve customer servicing strategies.

Our Decision Science teams use industry leading modeling and AI practices to predict customer behavior. We develop, deploy and validate predictive models and support the use of models in economic logic to enable profitable decisions across credit, fraud, marketing and servicing optimization engines

Responsibilities :

• Work with massive data and sophisticated tools in an industry leading Big Data environment.
• Planning and delivering of high performing models, meeting agreed deadlines and ensuring accurate, efficient implementation of models in production systems
• Learning industry developments and best practices, conducting research and development to incorporate best in class modelling methodologies and share with the team
• Performing annual reviews, performance monitoring reviews, retrains and remediation activity on models as required

• Expertise in an analytical language (Python, R or the equivalent), and experience with databases (Hive, SQL, or the equivalent). Knowledge of SAS is a plus but not required.
• Deep understanding of machine learning/statistical algorithms such as deep learning and boosting. Experience with data visualization is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to frame business problems into mathematical programming problems, leverage external thinking and tools (from academia and/or other industries) to engineer a solution and deliver business insights.

Job Title: Data Analyst Trade Finance Operations

We are seeking a highly skilled data analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in data analysis, preferably in banking/financial services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse user correction logs by extracting and consolidating data from ClearTrade and vendor systems.
• Preprocess raw data by document type and field to support validation and deeper analysis.
• Work closely with operations teams to understand the root causes of corrections.
• Classify corrections into categories such as necessary (for ML training) or unnecessary (potential rule improvements).
• Summarize findings in clear, actionable formats for both vendor and user feedback.
• Collaborate with business users to understand operational logic and intent behind correction patterns.
• Coordinate with vendors to share insights and recommend improvements to machine learning or rule-based systems.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of analysis progress and decision rationales.
• Provide regular updates, issue logs, and recommended action plans to senior stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in any field.
• Familiarity with Trade Finance processes and documents (e.g., L/Cs, invoices, shipping documents).
