Job Description:

1. Strategic Leadership - Support organizational development, communicate vision, mission, and values.- Create a better home environment for residents.- Foster a learning culture for nurses.- Monitor KPIs and manage budget and resources efficiently.

Key Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Nursing

Possession of a Registered Nursing Certificate

Registration with the Singapore Nursing Board

Completion of relevant postgraduate studies at the master's level is preferred

Current possession of BCLS & AED Certificate

A minimum of 12 years of experience in nursing, with at least 4 years in a managerial role.

Preferably, candidates should have experience in the following areas:

Quality and Risk Management

Coaching, counseling, and workforce planning

Establishing and managing operations in care centers, nursing homes, or other elderly home care services.

Demantia, Palliative or medical-surgical experience. Advanced Diploma of the above mentioned skills will be an advantage.

The job holder is responsible for ensuring personalized and cost-effective care is provided by nursing staff to residents in accordance to established policies and procedures, standards of nursing care and practices. Responsible for the effective and efficient running of the ward/department assigned.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%)

• Oversee the team of RN/EN, NA/HA under his/her charge
• Responsible for compliance of all nursing standards as stipulated by MOH and SNB
• Lead quality assurance activities to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care of the ward
• Ensure quality audits are planned, conducted periodically and follow up with corrective improvements
• Ensure written policies and SOP is available and up to date to guide nursing practices
• Provide direct care to residents to ensure compliance to standards
• Ensure smooth transition of residents from acute to chronic care and back to community
• Ensure appropriate skill mix and adequate manpower resourcing for all shifts and types of services for area under his/her purview
• Direct and facilitates staff development, skills and competency upgrading through in-house training, approved online learning or formal education opportunities
• Guide orientation/ induction programmes and preceptorship for all new staff
• Prepare roster and daily staff assignment for the ward/dept
• Support the SNM in nursing home management and deputizes her in her absence
• Work with Allied Health on preventive and rehabilitative programs for the residents

Secondary Responsibilities and duties (20%)

• Promote evidence-based practices or nursing care delivery
• Demonstrate awareness of current nursing and health care practices
• Monitor and analyze trends and changing needs of residents in institutional settings

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing and/or Specialist Diploma in Gerontology and/or Advanced Diploma in any discipline is preferred
• Possess valid registration with Singapore Nursing Board

The Nurse Manager leads the nursing team and related healthcare workers in the ward. He/She is responsible for the day-to-day operational work flow in the Nursing Department.

• Specific Duties

- Attend case management rounds, family conferences to ensure that appropriate care and needs of the patients are rendered as well as to resolve problems and attend to feedbacks.

- Perform “on call” duties.

- Appraise staff performance and counsel when necessary.

- Undertake teaching and resource role in nursing practice for nursing.

- Supervise and mentor nurses and all personnel involved in nursing care.

- Compile monthly Incidents and Infections statistics as necessary.

- Check accuracy of daily in-patient census.

Job Requirement:

• Degree in Nursing that is recognised by the SNB, or a Post Basic Qualification
• Registration with SNB as a Registered Nurse

The Nurse Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, improvements and enhancements of clinical nursing services within the nursing home so as to ensure safe, high quality, efficient and cost-effective care is delivered to residents and their families. He/she will oversee a team of registered and enrolled nurses, nursing aides, healthcare assistants. In addition, he/she will work with multi-disciplinary care providers such as occupational therapists, physiotherapists, medical social workers, clinical counsellors and others.

Professional Roles

· Coordinate teamwork in total resident’s care with the care staff, delivering quality service to residents, relatives and visitors.

· Identify needs for improvement in delivery of service and standard of care by maintaining direct resident’s contact and involvement in resident’s care.

· Develops and support team building among care staff during day to day operation and ensuring that effective and co-operative working relationships are maintained.

· Evaluate and maintain standard of service by conducting regular meetings, team discussion, clinical training and guidance, orientation, instruction, re-organization in nursing functions and work process, policies and procedures.

Training and Development

· Attending meet-ups with AIC, MOH, and other stakeholders in ensuring the quality, standards and guidelines of the nursing home are maintained and enhanced.

· Collaborates with the Nurse Educator in identifying training needs of the staff.

· Collaborates with students and undergraduates in Projects/Learning Experiential in Geriatric Setting

Administration

· Assessment and coordinating of residents for new admission referral and prior discharge from hospitalization

· Oversee the staff planning roster to ensure sufficient of staff coverage in accordance to the effectiveness of delivering quality nursing care to the residents

· Direct the formulation and implementation of policies, procedures and standard of practice

· Responsible to supervision, evaluation and disciplining the performance of all staff within scope of responsibility

· Assesses the educational and appraisal performance needs of employees in collaboration with ADON and Registered Nurses

· Clinical Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to the nursing team, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and best practices.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN); Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Surgical/Perioperative) Master’s Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration is a plus.

· Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in (Singapore).

· Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role within an ASC or surgical setting.
