Job Summary

  • Technology is key to enabling the DBS vision of being the leading bank in Asia. To meet the challenges arising from the ever-evolving technological advancements and increasing sophistication and demands of customers, there is a need for deft Technology Risk Managers to ensure robust risk governance.
  • As a member of the Technology Risk Management team, you will oversee a global portfolio of technology risk management activities (includes participating in any technology risk management related initiatives), with a focus on:
    • Targeted Risk Reviews
    • Policy/Standard/Guide enforcement validation
    • Thematic risk analysis for IT risks
  • The position requires a strategic leader who can identify systemic risks, drive audit remediation, and enhance governance across all regions where DBS operates.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Accountable for managing internal and external reviews/audits from audit planning (such as request for information (RFI), opening meeting, etc.), fieldwork (such as RFI, issue discussion, etc.), to reporting and closing meeting.
  • Responsible for monitoring and validating the closure of management actions, arising from internal and external reviews/audits, including regulator inspection reviews.
  • Challenge completeness, relevance and sustainability of committed actions by LOBTs from a technology risk perspective
  • Perform review of new / revised processes, provide risk opinion and ensure proper approvals and documentations.
  • Collaborate with the different technology teams to conduct post implementation review of new / revised processes to provide assurance.
  • Drive and orchestrate efforts on verification of IT mandates, policies, standards and guides, processes and exception management
  • Carry out data-driven technology risk assessments in collaboration with Lines 1 & 2 via data collection and analysis
  • Leverages on data analytics, tools and techniques to enable identification of new risks or analyse existing risks for better risk control & governance and insights generation
  • Explores data-centric AI for context-enriched data analysis for more efficient and effective risks control and action planning; By doing so, trends analysis across risk dimensions is performed to help provide meaningful and useful insights
  • Reviews technology risks related to Enterprise Architecture (EA) taking into perspective the architecture design with respect to business, application, data and technology architectures
  • Challenges the reasonability of existing risks & controls specific to Enterprise Architecture (EA) and makes recommendations for improvement
  • Prepare and develop technology risk insights (such as IT audit thematic and trend analysis) to be presented at forums (such as technology risk forums, etc.).
  • Engage and collaborate with technology stakeholders to proactively identify risks at a detailed and technical level and ensure that IT is effectively driving remediation activities and to continuously improve IT risk posture.
  • Proactive in forging effective engagement with key stakeholders relating to risk & control matters.
  • Manage technology risk initiatives and target reviews.
Required Experience
  • At least 10-15 years of experience preferably with exposure on IT and risk management (including technology).
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying, assessing and advising on technology risks.
  • Deep understanding in solutioning system architecture of an end-to-end core banking systems.
  • Experience as a risk manager with at least 5-10 years of data analytics background and exposure in a financial institution
  • With exposure to data analytics workbench, data mining & quality tools for application delivery insights, data visualisation, machine learning for analytics and dashboards, business intelligence (BI) report automation, running analytical models
  • Has exposure to Enterprise Architecture (EA) principles and frameworks
  • Experience on evaluation of risks related to business architecture, data, technology and application architecture
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving, interpersonal and operating skills to effectively drive the IT Risk agenda with IT functions.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels -- able to effectively communicate with IT and senior management, as well as line staff to drive IT risk mitigation initiatives and other IT risk management related areas.
  • Ability to leverage on data analytics to present trends, explain complex issues in a presentable and logical manner
  • Experience in driving IT risk management in digital age a plus.
  • Knowledge of Information Security, System Resiliency & Availability & Software development practices and frameworks and regulatory requirements preferred.
  • Good technical competencies and exposure to IT application or infrastructure development, support and management.
  • Demonstrated experience of leveraging data and analytics to get stakeholder buy-in is a plus.
Soft Skills:
  • Strong executive communication(for Technology EXCO-level reporting).
  • Ability to translate technical risks into business impact.
  • Leadership in driving cultural change toward risk awareness.
Education & Certifications:
  • Bachelor's/Master's in Data Science, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Certifications (Required):CISA, CISSP, CRISC, CISM, or equivalent.
  • Preferred:ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, AWS/Azure Security, CCSP.

We are looking for a seasoned Engineer & Solution Architect to drive the engineering practices, transformation and modernization of applications in Corporate Bank.

This role should enable in identification of impediments and support various functional engineering teams to align with the target state engineering practices. This person is expected to influence engineering community to deliver solutions that comply with the Architecture Blueprint while delivering business outcomes on cloud native payments infrastructure encompassing initiation, qualification, validation, processing and clearing.

The role will enable modernization of payments estate enabling better client experience, increased stability, scalability and higher change velocity.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Strong Engineering, Solution & Domain Architecture background, with proven track record of working in a very complex environment with high volume and/or low latency systems
  • Experience with designing solutions in public cloud platforms
  • Up to date on modern architecture design patterns e.g. micro-services, streaming architectures, horizontal scalability, API design patterns, REST services, SOA principles, database systems, UI frameworks, enterprise integration patterns, modern SDLC practices
  • Passionate technologist with ability to deep dive into the code level with expert knowledge of the java ecosystem and ability contribute code in POCs, MVPs or project reviews
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing and alternating priorities with a constant focus on delivery.
  • Excellent Analytical skills with an ability to interpret bank wide specifications into specific and effective domain requirements
  • Proven history of implementing technology roadmaps and providing subject matter expertise in specific data areas.

  • Experience in Agile delivery knowledge and Google Cloud Platform.


Your skills and experience:

  • Min 15 years of working experience in IT Developing Architecture and performing POCs on latest Java-based technologies including micro-services, streaming architectures, horizontal scalability, API design patterns, REST services, SOA principles, database systems, enterprise integration patterns, modern SDLC practices.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in designing large scale solutions in Public Cloud platforms using the latest technologies with hands on expertise and working experience of modern Devops tools and practices,
  • Min 5 years of experience directly managing Engineering teams with proven ability to lead the design and delivery of end-to-end technical solutions, guiding teams across the full software development cycle.
  • Proven experience in designing large scale solutions in Public Cloud platforms using the latest technologies with hands on expertise in Terraform and working experience of modern Devops tools and practices.
  • Working Experience in tools such as Terraform with experience in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines that automate testing, build and infrastructure deployment processes.
  • Experience in implementing Trunk-based development to support rapid, high-quality software delivery.
  • Prior relevant experience in building large scale and complicated systems
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • Experience mentoring, and investing in the development of other engineering leaders and staff engineers.
  • Maturity and persuasiveness to engage in business dialogue and support stakeholders.
