Responsibilities
Manage databases by administering, installing, configuring, upgrading, and patching.
Monitor and optimize database performance, utilizing advanced skills in database tool usage including capacity planning with a detailed analysis and recommendation.
Perform database backup and complex recovery.
Perform strong troubleshooting, diagnosing and recovery from complex database issues.
Provide strong technical assistance and advice to application teams.
Coordinate with internal IT and escalate to vendors for timely response/recovery.
Automate routine tasks using scripts and open-source tools.
Gather requirements, design business and technical aspects, develop, test, implement, and write queries, stored procedures, and automation scripts for various database technologies.
Design and implement cloud-based database solutions on AWS and Azure, ensuring best practices for security, scalability, and performance.
Utilize AWS RDS, Aurora, and Azure SQL Database for managing relational databases, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery configurations.

Qualifications
Minimum requirement of 10+ years of experience in database administration, encompassing installation, configuration, backup/recovery, patching, database tuning, and support for application design and development.
Proficiency in physical database modelling, information engineering, multi-tier design and development, and open systems.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in database high availability and disaster recovery techniques and concepts.
Experience in performance analysis (IO, CPU, etc.) and optimization (indexes, partitions, schema redesign, etc.).
Familiarity with geo-redundant database architectures (Always-On, Active/Active, Master/Master, etc.) will be considered advantageous.
Relevant experience with Oracle, SQL Server, EDB Postgres, MongoDB.
Experience with cloud-native database services, including familiarity with serverless database options and microservices architectures.
Knowledge of cloud security best practices for databases, including encryption, access control, and compliance considerations.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities
- Installation, Implementation, Evaluation, Configuration, Administration, Operations, Monitoring, and Management of Oracle Databases (12c / 19c) running on Linux environment.
- Provide technical solutions for database related issues.
- Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring high levels of system availability and reliability.
- Data Management and Operational Support for both Oracle.
- Implement and manage high availability solutions including Oracle RAC and Data Guard.
- Troubleshooting real-time performance and tuning issues in Oracle Database.
- Manage and perform database backup restore.
- Upgrade of New Software Releases, Patches and System.
- All aspects of database tuning from software configuration, memory usage, data access, SQL and physical storage.
- Administer and maintain MS SQL (2016 and above) environments.
- Support Audits with relevant correct details.
- Participate in Disaster recovery exercises.
- Respond to calls such as incidents and requests in a timely manner.
- Maintain proper documentation according to the company policies and practices.
- Perform change and release management according to bank policies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problem of database issues with emphasis on root cause analysis.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology with min. 7 years' work experience in Oracle patching for Standalone and RAC environments.
- Experience in RAC and Grid Infrastructure (Clusterware, ASM, Disk Groups, etc.).
- Experience in Always ON and Windows clusters.
- Experience in migrating and upgrading of database.
- Experience in managing database security policies and procedure documents.
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Able and willing to work after office hours and on weekends when needed.
