About the Job

You will be joining the grinding department that is responsible for operation of surface grinding machines for precision parts. You will be responsible for fabrication of new projects and maintenance of on-going projects as per required.

Key responsibilities

• To operate and maintain surface grinding machines as per project requirements and machine maintenance guidelines.

• Read and interpret technical drawings, tool designs, and CAD/CAM files to execute accurate grinding processes.

• Perform finishing operations on mould inserts, cores, ejector plates, and other tooling components to meet tight tolerances.

• Verify part accuracy using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, dial indicators, gauges, CMM where required).

• Work closely with toolmakers, CNC machinists, and polishing technicians to complete tool realisation projects.

• Perform tool modification, refurbishment, and corrective grinding as per engineering changes or quality requirements.

• Maintain equipment, grinding wheels, and workstations in good working order.

• To perform meticulous checks on workpiece steel dimensions.

• Ensure adherence to company quality standards, ISO certifications, and safety procedures.

• Responsible for work planning and scheduling as per project timeline to achieve KPI.

Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

• 'N' level certificate.

• Have at least 3-5 years of experience.

• Able to read and understand 2D drawings.

• Good interpersonal communication abilities.

• Meticulous with good attention to details.

Job Description

• Set up the machines, operate the machines to meet or exceed daily output target and quality expectation.
• Ensure that there are sufficient raw materials for daily production usage. If there is shortage, put up the request to Leads for raw materials needed.
• Conduct inspection(SOP Requirement) for the finished products to ensure that they meet the specifications.
• Sort out rejects before routing the finished products for final quality inspection and stationed the parts at the correction location for next process or QA buyoff.
• Ensure that good housekeeping is maintained at all time.
• Check machine safety is functioning correctly and report whenever necessary.
• Complete all necessary production record sheets and charts for monitoring purposes.。
• Conduct daily PM1(basic preventive maintenance).
• Check object list and print labels for each production order assigned to him/her.
• Inform Lead/Supervisor/Specialist on unfulfilled targets, quality issues and machines problems.
• Other duties as assigned by Management.

Contract Terms

1. Working days per week :  5 Days
2. Must be at least 18 years old

Job Descriptions:

• Set-up and run machine with minimal supervision.
• Ensure proper maintenance of tooling at all times.
• Using measuring instruments, including vernier caliper, micro meter, thread gauges.
• Select fixtures (jaws, chuck) pats holding and tooling to machine parts when necessary.
• Visually inspection for each part of quality.
• Operate basic hand tools and powered hand tools. I.e. drills, disc grinders, etc.
• Perform tight schedule to meet production dateline.
• Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures.
• Provide production, progress, or changeover reports to shift supervisors.
• Maintain cleanliness of machine after work.

Job Requirements:

• Min. NITEC / ITE qualifications.
• 1-2 years of Manual Lathe machine operating experience in manufacturing industries.
• Hands-on and able to read engineering drawings.
• Ability to work well under pressure, positive attitude and a team player.
• Perform other related duties as required.
• Must be punctual and work overtime on weekend & holidays when needed.
