Tabla, the Tamil Murasu's English language weekly tabloid started in 2008, is a free weekly English-language newspaper published every Friday in Singapore. It also has a website that publishes news daily. It is aimed at the wider Indian community of Singapore as well as the Indian diaspora. It provides a mix of local and Indian news relevant to the community.
As a Copy Editor /Sub Editor for tabla, you will create, edit, and proofread content for both our digital and print platforms. You will write Singapore stories with an Indian flavour and review and edit the editorial content for accuracy. You will also be tasked with doing simple page design and layout.
Job Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree or above in relevant fields.
- At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in an editorial capacity is required.
- Excellent command of English and strong writing skills.
- Able to copyedit fast and accurately.
- Must have a nose for interesting information and trending news.
- Knowledge of multi-platform news-gathering tools and resources.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Willingness to work on shifts, weekends/public holidays.
