WHAT is this role about?

As a Podcast Producer, you will work as part of Mothership’s Audio Projects team to develop a new narrative-driven podcast series.


You will work alongside teammates who are passionate about creating engaging content using audio formats.


A snippet of what you can expect to be doing on a day-to-day basis:

  • Putting together fun and insightful episodes for our podcast
  • Conducting research into a variety of topics relevant and interesting to our audiences
  • Identifying and building relationships with guests and newsmakers
  • Writing scripts and pitching stories
  • Developing and executing marketing strategies for the podcast


WHO should consider?

We are looking for someone with prior writing, journalism, podcast, and/or show hosting experience. A plus if you are familiar with audio production and editing software and have an understanding of the narrative or story-driven audio content landscape.


If you are someone who:

  • Is curious about socio-cultural phenomena, and has a nose for a good story
  • Has good knowledge of our political scene in Singapore
  • Possesses the drive to pursue story leads and opportunities, and can work independently
  • Listens to a wide range of podcasts and audio content
  • Is fluent in written and spoken English

WHAT is this role about?

As a video journalist, you will work closely with the editorial team to engage, educate and entertain audiences on Mothership’s TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube.


A snippet of what you can expect to be doing on a day-to-day basis:

  • Plan and execute shareable video content, ranging from voxpops, interviews, profile features to explainers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate new content formats
  • Attend events/briefings and engage external stakeholders/newsmakers to develop video ideas
  • Manage end-to-end production processes
  • Prepare creative and effective social media assets to amplify reach and relatability of video content
  • Track and analyse video performances to gather insights to refine content strategies
  • Present and host videos (optional)


WHO should consider?

If you:

  • Have a keen interest in politics, current affairs, lifestyle and/or environment

  • Participating in daily newsgathering and reporting
  • Working with both writing and video teams to pitch and develop story ideas
  • Working independently to pursue leads, conduct research, and follow up on pitches
  • Helping with social media platform management, e.g., drafting captions for social media posts.

WHAT is this role about?

As an Evening Assistant Editor, you will work as part of Mothership’s editorial team to ensure and improve the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of our news and current affairs reporting. You will help expand our editorial range and increase our editorial depth.


You will lead and mentor a team of content producers and be responsible for executing, assigning, and coordinating editorial tasks and duties.


The evening team operates from 4pm to 11pm, Mondays through Fridays.


A snippet of what you can expect to be doing on a day-to-day basis:

  • Managing the output of news content on our website and social media platforms through the effective editing, assigning, and curation of stories
  • Identifying important news developments in Singapore, or international news that affects Singapore
  • Participating in news gathering, reporting, and story development
  • Leading and mentoring a team of evening content producers
  • Independently managing project timelines and resources


WHO should consider?

We are looking for someone with a minimum of four years of operational experience in a newsroom or a related industry and with experience in managing teams and projects.

  • Reads widely and thinks clearly and critically
  • Is creative, curious, and passionate about current affairs, people and politics
  • Possesses excellent writing and editing skills
  • Keeps extremely current with digital and social media trends
  • Can help our audiences make sense of issues and events in an increasingly complex and fragmented world
