Job Description

The Research Assistant will be responsible for integrating the NeuroRAN AI-enabled Radio Access Networks (RAN) with various AI-based applications. Such applications will help optimize the RAN performance, streamline the RAN operational efficiency, create advanced features (e.g., spectrum sensing) for RAN, and better support edge-based AI applications.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in computer science, computer engineering, communication engineering, or related fields.
  • Good working knowledge in AI systems and models.
  • Hands-on experiences in Linux systems, virtualization / containers, edge/cloud systems deployment and management (e.g., Kubernetes).
  • Good programming skills, e.g.: Python, shell scripting, C / C++, Web, Java.

Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for a full-time Research Assistant (RA) position. The candidate will be involved in research projects related to dance exergaming for older adults (SinDance) and mental health of nursing students and nurses in the Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The appointment (1 September 2025 – 1 September 2026) will be made on a 1-year contract basis in the first instance, with the possibility of extension.

Purpose of the post

The RA will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator, Assistant Professor Jiang Ying and study team members to ensure the successful completion of the studies on time. The RA’s principal role will be to work in general practices such as recruitment, data collection, entry, analysis, and manuscript writing.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The research assistant will be required to:

  1. oversee the general management of the project;
  2. undertake the day-to-day running of the project at the study site (such as recruitment, provision of intervention, and data collection);
  3. work with various stakeholders on the development and evaluation of the intervention;
  4. provide administrative and secretarial support to the project, such as organizing regular meetings to maintain regular communication with other members of the research team and collaborate with the study sites;
  5. undertake the day-to-day running of the project at the study site, e.g. Collaborate with team members at the study sites, recruitment, and data collection at the study site;
  6. conduct literature searches, drafting of manuscripts, using SPSS to enter data, analyse data and maintain the trial database, as well as assist in preparing both progress and final reports of the project;
  7. assist with obtaining ethical approval from the Institutional Review Board and modifications as needed
  8. work on other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

The applicant should:

  1. Have a Bachelor’s degree with Honors in nursing/psychology/public health or related disciplines ;
  2. Have some experience with research;
  3. be able to work independently and in a team, have an investigative nature, attention to detail;
  4. have knowledge of computer applications, e.g. MS office
  5. have good communication skills. Having experience with working with older adults is preferred.
  6. Experience or interest in psychology-related topics are an advantage.

We are seeking multiple full-time Research Assistant(s) who will assist with quantitative data analysis in ongoing projects on the economics and demography of aging, pensions and retirement, as well as health of the elderly. The projects are part of a large 5-year research program (2024-2028) which has collaborators in Singapore and the United States. The Principal Investigator of this project is located at Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.

The successful candidate(s) must demonstrate competence in quantitative research methods using STATA or R, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent written and spoken English is essential. Research interest and experience in one or more of the above-listed areas on economics and demography of aging, OR pensions and retirement, OR health of older adults is plus.

This position caters to individuals who are looking to further their skillsets and analytical training to develop a career or pursue further studies in the fields of applied economics or public policy research.
