• Design, build, and maintain reusable Terraform modules for core GCP services — GKE, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, VPC networking, IAM, KMS, and Cloud Storage.
• Establish IaC standards, module versioning strategy, and a private module registry.

Service Catalog

• Build and operate a self-service Service Catalog (e.g., Backstage, GCP Service Catalog, or equivalent) where developers can provision approved cloud building blocks on demand.
• Create golden-path templates and blueprints for common patterns: microservice on GKE, event-driven workload on Pub/Sub + Cloud Run, data pipeline on BigQuery, etc.
• Wrap Terraform modules into catalog items with parameterized inputs, approval workflows, and guardrail checks.
• Integrate the catalog with identity (Cloud Identity / Workforce Identity), ticketing, and observability tooling.

Security & Networking

• Design and operate landing zone networking: org hierarchy, folder/project structure, Shared VPC, hub-and-spoke topology, hybrid connectivity (Cloud Interconnect / VPN), and Private Service Connect.
• Implement network segmentation and egress controls using VPC Service Controls, firewall policies (hierarchical and network), Cloud NAT, and Private Google Access.
• Build secure-by-default modules covering IAM least-privilege, Workload Identity Federation, service account hygiene, and short-lived credentials.
• Embed encryption and key management patterns using Cloud KMS, CMEK/CSEK, and Secret Manager.
• Operationalize Security Command Center, Cloud Armor, Identity-Aware Proxy, and Binary Authorization for workload protection.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Functional QA Engineer to work in a hands‑on individual contributor (IC) capacity within an agile delivery model. The role requires strong ownership of functional testing, the ability to independently analyze problems and derive solutions, and openness to leveraging modern tooling, automation, and AI‑assisted techniques to improve testing efficiency and quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Individual Contributor Role

1. Operate as a hands‑on QA engineer responsible for functional testing deliverables with no people‑management responsibilities.
2. Own assigned testing scope independently, from requirement analysis through release sign‑off.

Functional Testing Ownership

1. Design, document, and execute test scenarios and test cases based on business and technical requirements.
2. Ensure adequate functional, regression, and edge‑case coverage for assigned features.

Analytical Problem Solving

1. Analyze requirements, defects, and system behavior to identify root causes and validate fixes.
2. Proactively investigate ambiguous requirements or product gaps and propose testable solutions.

Agile Collaboration

1. Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand‑ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
2. Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to clarify acceptance criteria and quality risks.

Defect Management

1. Log defects with clear reproduction steps, evidence, severity, and impact.
2. Validate fixes and ensure proper closure across sprints and releases.

Continuous Improvement & Upskilling

1. Actively adopt new testing approaches, tools, and techniques based on product evolution.

Required Skills & Experience

Experience

1. 5+ years of experience in functional software testing in web or enterprise applications.
2. Proven experience working as an independent QA contributor in agile teams.
3. Functional Testing Expertise
4. Strong hands‑on experience with black‑box and regression testing.
5. Ability to translate requirements into clear, testable scenarios.

Problem‑Solving Orientation

1. Demonstrated ability to figure out solutions independently when faced with incomplete or evolving requirements.
2. Comfortable operating with minimal supervision.

Automation Awareness (Good to have strong Plus)

1. Working knowledge or hands‑on experience with test automation concepts .
2. Experience with Playwright and TypeScript is a significant advantage .

AI / LLM Usage (Strong Plus)

1. Experience using LLMs or AI‑based tools to speed up daily QA tasks such as:

• ITIL knowledge (understanding of Service Now flow will be added advantage)
