Deputy Site IT Lead


Job Description

  • Lead and manage the Site IT team to deliver reliable, responsive, and customer-focused support for the RGE office, meeting SLA commitments and driving a positive end-user experience across business units and groups.
  • Build stakeholder relationships, understand business and user requirements, and translate them into practical IT solutions that improve productivity, usability, and service satisfaction.
  • Provide hands-on leadership in end-user computing and support operations, including troubleshooting and managing Citrix, desktops, laptops, Microsoft 365 applications, AI tools, meeting room technology, network and internet services, IT devices, and site-based applications to ensure reliable day-to-day user support.
  • Ensure all IT cybersecurity compliance metrics and remediation actions are addressed in a timely manner to maintain a secure, stable, and efficient environment for end users and business operations.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors to ensure high service quality, timely issue resolution, responsiveness, and operational continuity for end users and the site.
  • Maintain accurate IT inventory records and oversee asset lifecycle management to ensure proper tracking, utilization, and replacement planning.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve IT support procedures, service standards, and operational best practices to enhance efficiency, consistency, and user satisfaction.
  • Plan, manage, and monitor the site IT budget while ensuring prudent cost control and effective resource allocation.
  • Keep the team up to date on technology trends and organizational developments so they can provide informed, proactive, and effective support for evolving business and end-user needs.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of working experience, including at least 10 years in a technical team lead role managing IT environments.
  • Hands-on experience in end-user computing, including Citrix environments, desktop and laptop deployment, troubleshooting, and meeting room technology support.
  • Experience supporting, enabling, and training users on Microsoft 365 applications and services to improve adoption and workplace productivity.
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and their practical use in the workplace.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining physical server hardware and related network equipment is an added advantage.

About Forindo Singapore

Forindo is the strategic procurement arm of RGE Group, reporting directly to executive management. We manage the consolidated sourcing of critical raw material categories — chemicals, energy, packaging, and MRO — that feed RGE's global manufacturing operations across Indonesia, China, Malaysia, Brazil, and Canada.


The Opportunity

You will own a high-value chemicals portfolio — primarily caustic soda and sodium methylate — with annual spend of USD 80–150 million across RGE's global mill network. This is a front-line commercial role where your procurement decisions directly impact the Group's cost position, supply resilience, and competitive advantage. You will operate with significant autonomy in a fast-paced corporate team, with direct visibility to executive management . The level (Manager or Assistant Manager) will be calibrated to your experience and demonstrated ability to manage portfolio complexity.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute the commodity procurement strategy for your assigned chemicals portfolio, ensuring cost, quality, delivery, and supply reliability targets are met across all RGE mills globally.
  • Make timely, well-reasoned purchasing decisions grounded in commodities market analysis, leveraging your commercial acumen to capture value and manage price risk.
  • Lead structured negotiations with global and regional suppliers to secure optimal commercial terms, demonstrating command of key stages of the trade/deal lifecycle.


Stakeholder & Partnership Development

  • Influence and align a diverse range of commercial and non-commercial stakeholders — including mill teams, BG operational heads, and senior leadership — to support corporate procurement objectives across multiple geographies.
  • Build and sustain strategic supplier partnerships that ensure long-term supply security and competitive positioning for the Group.
  • Deliver regular, insightful market intelligence updates and commodity strategy recommendations to senior stakeholders, establishing yourself as the Group's subject-matter authority on your portfolio.


Supply Chain & Operational Excellence

  • Manage end-to-end supply chain execution for your categories, including logistics coordination across bulk carrier vessels and container shipments.


RGE Ad-hoc Projects

  • Lead ad-hoc group-level procurement projects as assigned, contributing to Forindo's broader strategic agenda.


Qualifications & Requirements

Must-Have

  • Minimum 5 years of physical commodity trading experience, OR minimum 6 years of strategic procurement experience. Candidates with a strong commercial mindset from adjacent fields are welcome to apply.
  • Hands-on experience across key stages of the commercial trade/deal lifecycle — from market analysis through negotiation and execution — with proven results in managing a portfolio or achieving procurement targets set by management.
  • Experience managing logistics for both bulk carrier vessels and container shipments.
  • Professional proficiency in both Mandarin and English (written and spoken) — required due to the nature of our organization's operating environment.
  • Degree in Business Management or a related field from a reputable university.
  • Willingness to travel 15–25% (approximately once per month), with the ability to plan and execute overseas business trips with minimal supervision.
  • Character: A proactive self-starter who stays focused and delivers results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Operates with integrity and full compliance, communicates with clarity and conviction, and contributes as a team player while taking ownership of outcomes.


Advantageous though not mandatory
