Job Description

Our client, a well-known company is looking for candidates for the position of Trade Operations Specialist.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee order fulfillment processes, including understanding contractual obligations and managing shipment requirements.
  • Prepare shipping documents in accordance with customer specifications and verify payments to suppliers and service providers.
  • Generate invoices and ensure compliance with Letter of Credit (LC) requirements, liaising with banks for negotiations when necessary.
  • Perform warehouse management duties such as stock reconciliation and billing, ensuring timely completion of month-end transactions.
  • Track shipments and proactively resolve any operational issues that may arise.
  • Maintain up-to-date records in internal systems regarding shipment status, cash flow for receivables and payables, and associated documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations and follow up on customer payments promptly.
  • Collaborate with overseas offices and warehouse providers for accurate documentation pertaining to customs declarations.
  • Execute additional tasks and assignments as required by management or supervisors.




REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in trade operations, particularly in non-ferrous commodities such as aluminium and base metals preferred.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of transactions in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with UCP600 regulations and experience in LC negotiation with banks.
  • Understanding of Incoterms such as CIF, CFR, and Ex Works.
  • Experience in handling container shipments and warehouse operations is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
  • Strong attention to detail and meticulousness in task execution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to teamwork.

Brief Summary:


This role involves managing strategic category relationships while overseeing procurement processes for materials and equipment. The successful candidate will lead sourcing initiatives that support the operational needs of Veterinary Reference Laboratories.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop sourcing strategies for consumables, reagents, biological and diagnostic materials, and analytical testing equipment.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external Japanese speaking vendors/partners to align sourcing priorities with business needs.
  • Lead sourcing projects from opportunity identification through supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and performance management.
  • Create comprehensive sourcing plans that consider cost, quality, supply continuity, and regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor supplier relationships and address risks related to logistics, material quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with global procurement to integrate regional sourcing efforts with enterprise strategies.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly across all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and familiarity with contract administration.
  • Proven experience in strategic sourcing and supply chain management.
  • Strong project management capabilities and ability to handle large-scale projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiar with SAP and other enterprise systems.
  • Understanding of GMP or ISO requirements is preferred.
  • Japanese language proficiency to liaise with Japanese speaking vendors.
