Job Description
On behalf of a leading international financial institution, we are seeking a legally trained compliance professional or a practicing regulatory lawyer looking to transition in-house for a VP / Senior VP – Regulatory Compliance position.
Reporting to the Head of Compliance, this senior role will act as the core subject matter expert on all regulatory compliance matters for the firm's Singapore and regional operations. The successful candidate will leverage their legal training to interpret MAS regulations, interface with regulatory bodies, and manage the implementation of compliance frameworks across the business.
Core Responsibilities
- Regulatory Advisory & Interpretation: Utilize legal expertise to interpret complex regulations from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) —including the SFA, FAA, Banking Act, or Payment Services Act —and provide clear, risk-based compliance advice to senior business stakeholders.
- Regulator Relations: Serve as a key liaison for the MAS and other relevant regulatory bodies. Coordinate responses to regulatory consultations, thematic reviews, routine inspections, and formal inquiries.
- Compliance Framework & Policies: Design, implement, and maintain robust compliance policies, manuals, and internal control monitoring programs to ensure the firm complies with all statutory obligations.
- Regulatory Horizon Scanning: Track and assess the impact of new and upcoming regulatory developments, consultation papers, and global extraterritorial rules. Oversee the business-wide implementation of required changes.
- Product & Licensing Reviews: Partner with business heads to conduct compliance reviews for new product launches, marketing materials, and regional expansion. Advise on licensing requirements or exemptions (e.g., CMS licensing).
- Incidents & Investigations: Lead reviews into compliance breaches or regulatory failures. Provide remedial action plans and coordinate internal reporting to executive committees.
Candidate Profile
- Qualifications: Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. / JD) or qualified solicitor from a recognized jurisdiction. Formal compliance certifications (e.g., ICA, ACAMS) are a plus but not mandatory if technical legal knowledge is strong.
- Experience Level: 5 to 10 years of experience as a Regulatory Lawyer (in a top-tier law firm or in-house) or as a Senior Regulatory Compliance specialist within a reputable financial institution.
- Expertise: Deep, technical understanding of MAS rules, notices, and guidelines. Proven track record of managing complex regulatory projects or direct engagement with the MAS.
- Languages: Native or professional fluency in English is essential.

A digital innovation firm is looking for an experienced, pragmatic lawyer to be Singapore‑based and support all legal matters in Singapore. This is a hands‑on role: you will draft and negotiate commercial contracts, advise business teams on regulatory and employment matters, support corporate governance and manage the legal function for the firm
Key responsibilities-
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements (SaaS, cloud, vendor, reseller, distribution, NDAs, professional services
- Provide day‑to‑day legal advice to product, sales, HR, finance and leadership on commercial risk, data protection, employment, regulatory compliance
- Maintain corporate governance: shareholder documentation, board and committee packs, minutes, statutory filings and company secretarial coordination
- Proactively review and update legal templates, policies, processes and training for commercial/legal risk mitigation
Must‑have qualifications & experience-
- Qualified lawyer with admission to practise in a common‑law jurisdiction; Singapore admission not required for in‑house role
- 4–9 years’ relevant legal experience (in‑house and/or law firm), preferably with exposure to technology/commercial transactions
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills across commercial contracts and a proven ability to provide clear, business‑focused legal guidance
- Solid understanding of employment law, data protection (PDPA or equivalent), IP basics, and regulatory/compliance frameworks relevant to tech
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; comfortable advising senior management
