About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Cloud Infrastructure Platform and Solutions (CIPS) Research Team. Our CIPS Research team is focussed on developing future technology systems to support growth in the rapidly evolving data center sector. The successful candidate will be directly involved in early-stage research projects, working with academic institutions, suppliers, customers, and partners to deliver proof of concept designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete literature reviews and studies to explore existing and future control systems.
- Identify problems, future needs or market gaps to establish areas of further work.
- Design, model, and simulate advanced control algorithms for power converters, electric drives, and energy systems.
- Implement control software on embedded platforms (DSPs, MCUs, or FPGAs).
- Integrate real time diagnostics, fault detection and control loops with sensors, actuators and communication interfaces in real hardware to demonstrate feasibility.
- Write research reports, design guides, patents and performance reports.
Requirements
- PhD or Master’s degree in Electrical / Electronic / Control Engineering or related field.
- Strong experience with control theory, digital control and signal processing.
- Understanding of common power electronic architectures (AC/DC, DC/AC, DC/DC, etc) and control methods.
- Knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink, embedded software (C/C++), architecture design and software version control.
- Solid understanding of microcontroller architectures, sensors, and communication protocols.
- Hands-on prototyping and testing experience using oscilloscopes, electronic loads and power analysers.
- Expertise in using simulation tools to aid the development and assessment of the proposed solution (MATLAB, Simulink, Python, LTspice, etc.)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated passion for innovation and commitment to continuous learning.

Power Electronics Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking skilled and innovative Power Electronics Engineers to design, develop, and test power electronic systems and components. The ideal candidate will have experience in power conversion technologies, circuit design, and system integration for applications such as AI data center server power supply, renewable energy systems, or industrial automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop power electronic converters including AC/DC, DC/DC such as Totem-pole PFC, T-type, Vienna Rectifier, LLC, Buck, Boost, SR, Flyback
- Perform calculation, simulations and modelling using tools such as LTspice, PSIM, Mathcad and so on
- Select and evaluate power components such as Si/SiC/GaN MOSFETs, IGBTs, capacitors, resistor, magnetics and so on
- Develop control algorithms for power converters and implement them on embedded platforms
- Conduct thermal and EMI/EMC test and analysis and ensure compliance with relevant standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, firmware, and mechanical engineers
- Support prototyping, testing, and validation of power electronic systems
- Document designs, test procedures, and report the test results
Qualifications
- Bachelor, Master or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, specialized in Power Electronics, with 2-5 years’ experience in the same industry
- Strong understanding of power electronics theory and application
- Proficiency in circuit design and simulation tool
- Experience with embedded systems and digital control of power converter
- Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards (UL, IEC, ISO, etc.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skill
Preferred Skill
- Familiarity with Open Compute Project (OCP) standards
- Hands-on experience with GaN/SiC devices and advanced magnetics design
- Hands-on experience with PCB layout and thermal management
- Proficiency with Python scripts

Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end program planning and execution for multiple research initiatives, from idea intake and scoping to feasibility builds and transition into product development teams.
- Prepare and present program updates, trade-offs, and recommendations to senior leadership. Secure decisions on scope, funding, and timelines.
- Build and maintain integrated project schedules, budgets, and resource plans. Manage dependencies across hardware, firmware, and mechanical engineering teams whilst regularly reporting project status.
- Work with lead engineers to translate process guidelines into clear research objectives, hypotheses, success criteria, and stage-gate exit requirements; lead gate reviews and manage stakeholder communications
- Lead technical risk management, including DFMEA, risk registers, and mitigation plans. Track and retire risks tied to performance, safety, cost, and manufacturability.
- Drive prototype builds and structured experiments to inform down-select decisions and validate new technologies.
- Collaborate with partners, suppliers, contract manufacturers, and accredited test labs on component evaluation, proof-of-concept builds, and pre-compliance testing.
- Support IP generation and collaboration contracts in partnership with legal and engineering leadership.
- Establish strong relationships with academic and industrial partners. Build customer relationships with clear communication of product and technology roadmaps.
- Champion best practices in research portfolio management, including process optimisation, experiment prioritization, learning velocity, and reuse of platforms and modules.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of program or project management experience in R&D for electro-mechanical systems and products.
- Demonstrated success delivering complex hardware-software research or feasibility programs through structured stage-gates.
- Hands-on familiarity with prototyping and test workflows (EVT/DVT concepts, lab equipment, data acquisition) and translating results into decisions.
- Proficiency with scheduling and collaboration tools (e.g., MS Project or Smartsheet; Jira/Confluence).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across engineering, design, supply chain, and leadership.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity, set structure where none exists, and drive alignment across global, cross-functional teams.
- Strong awareness of research landscape in Singapore
