The Fixed Income & Multi Asset department is responsible for managing the fixed income assets of the GIC portfolio and multi-asset strategies. Its universe is global and spans multiple sectors, including global interest rates, currencies, credit, emerging markets, securitized products, convertible bonds, equities and commodities.
We are looking for a suitable candidate to join our Macro Research & Strategy Division as an Associate / Assistant Vice President covering Developed Markets. This position is based in the Singapore office.
What will you do as a Macro Strategist?
- To provide coverage for our macro strategy research and investment calls in the fixed income and foreign exchange space
- Specific coverage across global markets
- To build relationship with the policymakers and think-tanks
- To build up and strengthen the macro research and strategy process and framework
- Develop and recommend investment strategies for fixed income portfolios, considering macroeconomic trends and market conditions
- Monitor and interpret economic data, interest rate movements, and fiscal and monetary policies to assess their impact on fixed income markets
- Provide regular and ad-hoc reports on market developments, yield curves, spread analysis, and risk assessments to portfolio managers
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
- Between 2 to 6 years’ experience in a global macro research within Developed Markets with ability to link the dots between macro, markets and positioning of major market participants
- Knowledge in international monetary system and/or economic history
- Macroeconomic and policy analysis of sovereigns
- Experience with asset allocation is desirable
- Strong research and investment strategy formulation background, including strong technical experience and analytical skills
- Team player and self-driven with ability to anticipate changing market dynamics

Internal Audit Department
We provide an independent assessment of GIC’s governance, risk management and internal control environment to key collaborators including the Board of Directors, audit committee, and senior management.
Business Audit
You will provide assurance and advisory services across investment groups, both public and private markets, and corporate services functions.
We are seeking for potential talents to join our Internal Audit Department on a 1-year contract as an Associate in the Business Audit team. Candidates with a strong background and/or audit experience in regulatory compliance and risk management processes in the financial industry or have worked in Internal Audit will be preferred.

What will you do as an Internal Auditor (Contract)?
- Support the evaluation of risk management, control and governance processes within the Group, applying a sound foundation of risk and control knowledge.
- Execute audits covering front-to-back investment and operational processes, contributing to assigned audit tasks under the guidance of Team Leads/Managers.
- Work closely with Team Leads/Managers to perform testing, document workpapers, and assist in drafting audit findings.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather information and support business monitoring and risk assessment activities.
- Build and maintain collaborative working relationships within the internal audit team to support the firm's control environment.
- Apply data analytics (DA) in audits where required, with support from the DA team.
What qualifications or skills should you possess in the role?
- Degree in Accounting and Finance, Business Management, or Business Analytics.
- At least 3 years of working experience in the Banking and Financial Services industry, with a good understanding of financial products.
- A dependable team player with a strong interest in financial processes and internal auditing.
- Self-driven, with a learning mindset and a willingness to build up financial markets knowledge.
- Able to prioritise tasks and exercise sound judgement on when to escalate issues.
- Engages and collaborates well within the team and across functions.
- Demonstrates initiative, pro-activity, and accountability for assigned work.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with data analytics and visualisation tools such as Python, SQL, or Tableau is an advantage.

External Managers Department
We embrace an active investing approach for funds under external management to outperform public market benchmark indices.
What impact can you make in this role?
The External Managers Department identifies and develops relationships with global investment managers to benefit GIC and outperform our benchmarks. We are looking for a suitable candidate to join our team in Singapore. The candidate will be working closely with the investment management team responsible for external managers due diligence, selection, monitoring and portfolio construction. Candidates should have prior work experience in investment management and have basic statistical and technical knowledge.
What will you do as an Associate / AVP?
•Conduct thorough due diligence and monitoring of hedge fund managers and strategies to identify potential risks and mitigants
•Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis to evaluate the performance and risk of hedge funds and portfolios of hedge funds
•Prepare and interpret comprehensive performance reports and present findings to senior management and investment committees
•Support the team in developing and implementing portfolio construction and risk management frameworks and policies for hedge fund allocation
•Maintain internal databases and create helpful analytical tools
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
•At least 3 years of fund allocator, risk management and/or capital market experience
•Experience analysing and evaluating macro, fixed income and credit securities and strategies
•Attention to detail and interest in hedge fund investing, portfolio construction and risk management
•Strong analytics and ability to gather and interpret data to identify risks in strategies and asset classes
•Knowledge of basic statistics, databases (MS SQL) and programming languages (Python, VBA, R, etc.)
•Excellent communication skills and ability to convey findings to senior stakeholders as well as peers

What will you do as a Programme Manager?
This role supports our Enterprise and Data Technology (EDT) division within Technology Group with a focus on managing multiple strategic projects to collectively achieve the objective of delivering meaningful and impactful business benefits to GIC
- Analyse and understand the how various projects fit into EDT’s roadmap and their inter-dependencies to be able to proactively identify potential issues and opportunities of reducing delivery complexity and risk.
- Proactively engage key senior business stakeholders to stay aligned on business objectives, and work closely with Engineering, Product and Project teams on delivery.
- Create relevant project milestones as checkpoints to stay aligned to business objectives, and resolve conflicts among projects on resourcing, timeline, priority, or stakeholder impact by understanding root cause, propose solution analysis and options, and resolve issues with right decision maker or forum.
- Constantly review and optimize overall delivery across multiple strategic initiatives by reprioritisation, resequencing, and reposition individual projects to ensure the department stay agile and focused on maximizing business benefits to GIC at enterprise level.
- Work closely with Director’s Office on change management
What makes you a successful candidate?
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or equivalent experience
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in IT project / program management, business analysis, project delivery and/or product management
- Demonstrated experience in leading complex projects and implementing enterprise-level software solutions
- Strong understanding of budgeting and business planning
- Good team player who is keen to learn, independent, and possesses strong analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Strong communicator with the ability to iterate through the requirements in phases, ensuring alignment with business sponsors, stakeholders, and department objectives
