The Role

We are seeking a hands-on Machine Learning Engineer Intern to join our Model Engineering Team with afocus on Computer Vision and modern AI. This role is designed for builders who are passionate about training deep learning models, refining architectures, and scaling real-world vision systems.

You will work closely with experienced engineers on production-grade models, ranging from standard object detectors to cutting-edge zero-shot and open-vocabulary architectures. This is an ideal role for those who enjoy running experiments, analysing model behaviour, and driving measurable performance improvements.

What You’ll Do

• Model Training & Fine-Tuning: Train, evaluate, and improve deep learning models across a variety of tasks, including classification, object detection, segmentation, and action recognition.
• Architecture & AI Exploration: Research and experiment with CNNs, Transformers, and Foundation Models. You will explore the integration of modern AI to enhance open-vocabulary detection and zero-shot capabilities.
• Failure Analysis & Data Refinement: Debug model failures (false positives/negatives) and implement solutions through targeted data annotation, cleaning, or improved inference strategies to ensure model robustness .
• Data & ML Engineering: Manage large-scale datasets, including preprocessing and versioning, to ensure high-fidelity and reproducible experiments.
• Pipeline Automation: Contribute to the development and optimization of automated training and evaluation pipelines to improve reliability and deployment efficiency.

Requirements

• Pursuing or completed a degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related technical field.
• Strong interest in deep learning model training, experimentation, and data-centric AI.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow .
• Competency in a Linux environment (SSH, shell scripting, and CLI-based file management).

Bonus Points

• Hands-on Experience: Previous work with specialized CV frameworks or comparing multiple architectures.
• Modern AI Knowledge: Familiarity with vision-language models or zero-shot detection.
• MLOps Tools: Experience with Git , Docker , or experiment tracking tools (e.g., Weights & Biases, MLflow).
• Video Processing: Knowledge of OpenCV, FFmpeg, or handling video streams.

Internship Details

• Duration: Minimum 6 months (flexible) starting August 2026
• Commitment: 4–5 days per week.
• Location: Singapore-based

Job Description

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated AI Research & Development Intern to join our AI Product group that delivers innovative Computer Vision solutions to global customers.

You will conform to high standards and work in a cutting-edge, dynamic, and professionally challenging environment.

As part of your role you will :

• Implement practical solutions using Large Language Models (LLMs), foundational Computer Vision (CV) models, and agentic AI to address real-world challenges.
• Conduct rigorous experiments to validate model performance, including data preparation, evaluation, and benchmarking, ensuring reliability and accuracy.
• Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept systems to test innovative ideas and demonstrate their feasibility and value.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• Familiar with machine learning and deep learning concepts, with hands-on project experience or strong interest in real-world applications.
• Proficient in at least one programming language, and familiar with database systems, Linux environments, Docker, and Git version control tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, logical reasoning, communication, and teamwork skills.

Duration :

• Available for at least a 6-month internship starting July/August 2026
• Able to work at least 4 days a week (Preferably full-time / 5 days a week).
• We are flexible with start and end dates and allow flexibility to accommodate exams, leave etc.

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Project Management Officer (PMO) / Quality Assurance (QA) Intern to join our AI Product group that delivers challenging, enterprise-scale Video Content Analytics solutions to global customers. You will conform to high standards of project planning and management, working in a cutting-edge, dynamic and professionally challenging environment.

Successful interns may be offered a full-time permanent position at cynapse at the end of the internship period.

As a Project Management Officer (PMO) / Quality Assurance (QA) Intern, you will:

• Supporting the planning and delivery of Vision AI Software Projects or Programs in Singapore and other countries
• Support multiple ongoing projects
• Assist with the project planning, resourcing and scheduling
• Assist in ensuring that projects are delivered on time, and provide timely reports on project status and activities Assist in requirements gathering and validation, solution development and testing, deployment, UAT and solution commissioning
• With guidance, perform usage tests on software thoroughly, identifying bugs and defects.
• Evaluate different functionalities and aspects of the product and generate reports.
• Assist in communicating and managing vendors, sub-contractors, partners and other stakeholders
• Follow the company PM best practices
• Work in an Agile environment (SCRUM)

The selected candidate will be involved in one or more job items listed above, depending on management decision.

Minimum Qualification:

• Completed at least 1 year of studies as part of a Diploma, Bachelor or Master in one of the following subjects: IT | Engineering | Project Management
• At least 6 months of experience in managing or delivering IT project(s).
• Some Experience with vendors and partner management
• Analytical Thinking
• Innovative, motivated and a quick learner, attention to detail, curiosity, and passion for technology
• Bonus: Technical background/experience with software development
