Job Description

The Trade Compliance Manager, Regional position is responsible for ensuring the import or export of products and materials complies with the regulations within a region.  The main duties include the deployment of regional and/or localized trade compliance procedures and guidelines that will assure compliance with import and export regulations, executing audit and risk assessment programs including corrective action plans, and providing leadership in strategic projects that affect the supply chain to ensure proper/advantageous structuring of transactions. In addition to developing and ensuring process adherence, the role will also act as a key knowledge point for all trade compliance issues and take a lead in the training and development of key stakeholders.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Maintains and evaluates the region’s compliance status with various regulatory bodies including customs, export control and applicable tax authorities.  Ensuring proper documentation and procedures are maintained in accordance with regulations.
  • Reviews internal controls, develops processes, administers the compliance audit program, and oversees corrective action plans for the region. Identifies compliance gaps and recommends process improvements.
  • Assists in establishing and maintaining localized policies and procedures for compliance with import and export regulations as well as ensuring broad Company awareness of these requirements.
  • Identifies and develops business processes to address compliance risks, with a focus on continuous process improvements to increase efficiency and improve performance to customers.
  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting KPIs and metrics to senior management and daily reporting of import and export compliance for the region.
  • Sets overall budget, operational strategy and priorities for assigned area of responsibility.
  • Prioritizes and manages projects in the region for both import and export compliance which involves defining the project scope, budget, scheduling and execution of project risk.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in International Business,  Business Administration or Supply Chain management.
  • Customs broker license.
  • At least 10 years trade compliance experience, with minimum 5 years' of management experience and trade compliance for multiple countries or in a global environment.
  • Expert working knowledge of import and export regulations across the region, including Import Licensing, Export Licensing, Free Trade Agreements, HTS and Export Control Classification, Country of Origin, Valuation, Transfer Pricing, Authorized Economic Operator, Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism, Approved Exporter.
  • Knowledge and ability to handle other Government Agency requirements applicable to Bio-Rad products, such as, but not limited to health registration agencies, veterinary controls and other related Export and Impart regulations within the region and countries.
  • Experience with global trade management software and systems, and with implementation and scaling of trade automation tools including but not limited to SAP-GTS.
  • Experience writing and submitting binding rulings and a proven record of designing and implementing value added import/export policies and processes.
  • Experience with audits and disclosure practices.
  • Experience working in the Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences or Diagnostic industry highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, communication, analytical and people management skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills at all levels in the organization.
  • Results orientation and strong sense of accountability.

Position Summary

As an Inventory Control Analyst at Bio-Rad, you will play a critical role in supporting Singapore Distribution Center (DC) operations, ensuring accurate inventory management through periodic cycle counts, reconciliation and management &/audit reporting. 

You will also lead data analytics initiatives that will transform and optimize DC inventory and distribution processes.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Manage daily inventory operations by ensuring timely execution and accuracy in cycle counts, stock movements and inventory reconciliation in Singapore Distribution Center
  • Manage inventory scrap and reporting (Expired, Warehouse damage etc.)
  • Analyze inventory and operational data to monitor turns, DOS, accuracy, and inventory health
  • Implement and manage standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Inventory Management &/ DC operations
  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies and data inconsistencies in inventory processes, partnering with the relevant functional teams to strengthen data integrity and process robustness
  • Develop and track business metrics and KPIs using data visualization and analytics platforms to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DC Operations, Quality, Finance, Customer Service, Planning and IT to ensure seamless operational and materials flow
  • Provide inventory data analysis, and documentation required for internal and external audits, including SOX, inventory waivers, and compliance reviews
  • Assist on onsite operational and other projects, as needed
  • Support SAP system configuration, testing and deployment for new features or enhancements, as needed

Job Description

The production technician is responsible for producing or supporting production of instruments products in compliance with established GMP procedures and ensuring products are of consistent high quality. Perform production activities and/or provide support to production operation, perform ERP system transactions, and support training of personnel assigned to Production Department.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Assist Supervisor / Line Leader in daily line operations.
  • Lead a group of Operators/technicians to achieve the production goals and objectives.
  • To interpret technical specifications and execute accordingly.
  • To analyze yield issues and work with Engineering with a path forward.
  • To come out troubleshooting guide to allow operator and technician I to follow.
  • To draft out procedures and work instructions to guild operators/technicians.
  • To review the process and come out with suggestion to improve on it.
  • To act as an IC when the line leader is not around.
  • To ensure all operators and technicians adhere to safety and quality protocol.
  • To train, guide and work with Production Operators and Production Technician I in producing high quality instruments
  • To arrange and/or assign the Operators/Technicians daily activities, ensuring that they are properly trained and competent in the assignment. Make the necessary arrangements for the operators to be trained.
  • Update the training matrix and ensure the operators' training matches the current training revision.
  • To arrange and perform daily and/or monthly inventory or cycle count.
  • Submit reports that are related to the daily activities.
  • Ensure assembly and testing activities are done in accordance with established work standards, cGMP, safety, Test and assembly procedures, and work schedule.
  • Assist Technicians and/or Engineers in the 1st level analyzes of defective materials to determine the cause of failure and production yield issues.
  • Work with supervisor and assist engineers to execute controlled experiments/ evaluation run to address equipment-related yield and quality issues and drive implementation of solutions in a production environment to meet production goals.
  • Support process improvement activities to meet production goals.
  • Perform any other similar and or related duties as may be directed by the Production Supervisor.
  • Ensure Daily 5S and Lean objectives are met.
  • To operate basic software operating system
  • Ensure compliance with all existing Quality management systems, company policies, ISO 9k/13485, cGMP, MDSAP, safety policy, legal requirements, etc.
  • Perform accurate and timely kitting of materials for the product line to meet production demand
  • Collaborate and support in the design, development and execution of activities to support kitting
