Job Description

Position: Production Operator (Day shift 7am - 7.15pm/ working 3-4days per week)
Working Location: Tuas (with company transport) 

About the Role 
This is a full-time position within the shift team, reporting to the Team Leader or Manufacturing Assistant. The role supports day-to-day manufacturing activities, including equipment set-up, troubleshooting, and machine maintenance. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of manufacturing equipment used to produce BD medical products.

What you'll do:

  • Operate machines to meet daily production targets while ensuring high quality and low waste.
  • Carry out routine machine maintenance such as cleaning, servicing, and part replacement.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues to minimize downtime and maintain safety standards.
  • Handle product and machine changeovers, including tool and die adjustments.
  • Support improvements by contributing ideas and helping implement machine upgrades.
  • Create simple work instructions to guide others on processes.
  • Take action to prevent or correct issues (Corrective & Preventive Actions).

Team & Support Tasks

  • Join department activities like Kaizen, safety programs, and team-building.
  • Participate in daily shift meetings to review team performance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Carry out other tasks assigned by supervisors.

Job Requirements: 

  • Open to candidates with N Level / GCE O Level / Nitec.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing industry / environment.
  • Able to work 12-hour DAY shifts (7am - 7.15pm), working 3 - 4 days per week + OT
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Summary

Provide technical expertise to support manufacturing in leading machine enhancement, managing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of machines, project execution, accountability on production waste and quality of all machine tools operations and the overall technician resource management in production.

Must be able to commit day shift 7am to 7pm . (Shift Pattern 3/4/4/3). During training period, you will be on day shift 7:00am to 4:00pm.

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain machines to meet production output, and other metrics like quality, waste etc.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance (Cleaning, Service, Replace)
  • Perform troubleshooting of machine and tools, equipment failures to meet production targets, safety and quality standards and/or specifications
  • Perform product/machine changeover on the line by tool/die change and machine set-up
  • Initiate, Implement and follow-up on machine enhancement and project assignments
  • Write Standard Work Instruction / Procedure for assigned operation / process
  • Implement Corrective and Preventives Actions
  • Participate in training and coaching of Technicians and new hires on skills and knowledge on machine operations and adjustments
  • Assist Engineers or Subject Matter Experts for any CI activities.
  • Ability to interpret electrical or electronics wiring or schematic diagrams.
  • Basic knowledge with Programmable Logic Controllers (eg. Omron or Allen Bradley).

Job Requirements

  • 1-2 years experience in Electrical aspect - Electrical Control & Automation.
  • Open to fresh Diploma/Nitec in Electrical Engineering.
  • Must be able to commit 12 hours day shift 7am to 7pm . (Shift Pattern 3/4/4/3)
  • Basic knowledge/experience working with PLC (e.g. Omron or Allen Bradley) is an advantage.
  • Ability to interpret electrical or electronics wiring or schematic diagrams.
  • Ability to interpret pneumatic diagrams.
  • Ability to carry out troubleshooting for machineries issues related to electrical, electronic components or pneumatic components.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of various types of sensors (reflective, proximity etc.) and switches for assembly lines application.

  • Write clear Standard Work Instructions and Procedures for assigned operations and processes
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to resolve machine and process issues
  • Train and coach Technicians and new hires on machine operations and adjustment skills to build team capability
  • Assist Engineers or Subject Matter Experts in continuous improvement (CI) activities to optimize production
  • Interpret electrical and electronic wiring or schematic diagrams to support machine maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Apply basic knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) such as Omron or Allen Bradley to support machine control systems
  • Utilize basic understanding of electrical hardware components including HMIs, motors, and controllers in maintenance tasks
  • Use basic knowledge of industry vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence) to support machine inspection and quality control

Required competencies and certifications

  • Ability to interpret electrical or electronic wiring or schematic diagrams
  • Ability to interpret pneumatic diagrams
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and pneumatic components in machinery
  • Sound knowledge of various sensor types (reflective, proximity, etc.) and switches used in assembly line applications

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • 1-2 years’ experience in electrical control and automation
  • Basic knowledge or experience working with PLCs (e.g., Omron or Allen Bradley)
  • Diploma or Nitec in Electrical Engineering or related field (fresh graduates are welcome)
