Overview

We are seeking a Technology Consultant to join Global Manufacturing Excellence Digitalization and Technology Division(D&TD).

Global Manufacturing Excellence is the recognized Center of Excellence driving value across Saudi Aramco’s Downstream Global manufacturing portfolio. D&TD is responsible for leading the technology function collaborating across various downstream functions and corporate as well.

Your primary role is to support the development and deployment of technology management programs aimed at providing technical support across Saudi Aramco Global Manufacturing portfolio. You will ideate, introduce, deploy and sustain novel and innovative technological solutions within various domains including reliability, maintenance, sustainability, energy and process.

Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

  • Lead the end-to-end implementation of Technologies across the downstream portfolio including petrochemical facilities, refineries, terminals and bulk plants as well as gas plants.
  • Develop comprehensive value adding technology roadmaps aligned to business challenges such as energy optimization, sustainability, plant availability, debottlenecking and process optimization.
  • Accelerate technology deployment working closely with internal and external execution agencies and vendors.
  • Conduct feasibility studies including technical and economic evaluation of solutions, platforms, and new technologies.
  • Perform technologies scouting to enable the identification of innovative and value adding technologies.
  • Develop business case and cost/benefit analysis for technologies deployment.
  • Work with other consultants, engineers, and project managers to deliver comprehensive solutions that address both technical and business requirements.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate the progress and benefits of technology initiatives to peers, relevant stakeholders and senior management.
  • Collaborate with technology providers in developing and conducting tailored training content and programs to support the implementation and adoption of technologies by end-users.
  • Recognize and introduce necessary changes to standards and governance.
  • Stay abreast of global and regional Oil and Gas industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact technology implementations.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance and standards, evaluate solution implementations.  And identify necessary changes to standards and governance.

Minimum Requirements

  • You will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (Chemical, Industrial, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering). A Masters’ degree is preferred.
  • You will have 10-15 years of experience as a Technology Consultant ideating, scouting, introducing and tracking value added technology deployment.
  • You have good understanding of downstream technologies, including but not limited to refinery processes.
  • You will have experience in developing business case and benefit/cost analysis for downstream technology.
  • You will have experience in working collaboratively in cross-functional teams, across the project lifecycle fostering effective communication and cooperation.
  • You will be able to demonstrate excellent understanding of management of change, engineering and design package as well as regulatory, risk mitigation and safety requirements.
  • You will have experience in change management, including developing and implementing technology changes.
  • You will be able to demonstrate understanding of relevant industry energy, safety and design regulations and standards ensuring compliance of proposed technology solutions.
  • You will be able to demonstrate excellent understanding of manufacturing technology solutions enabling the key process areas including production, reliability, environmental, safety and sustainability
  • You will have strong project management skills with a proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex technology implementation projects in the O&G business
  • You have the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels

  • Demonstrated ability to optimize FCC operations, with specific examples of performance improvements achieved (e.g., yield improvements, energy savings, reliability enhancements).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of FCC processes, equipment, and systems, including regenerator operations, catalyst management, and product fractionation.
  • Deep understanding of FCC catalyst chemistry and selection criteria for various feedstocks.
  • Expertise in FCC troubleshooting, including analysis of operational issues such as afterburn, catalyst circulation problems, and product quality deviations.

We are seeking a Metering Engineer to join our Global Manufacturing Organization within our Technical Support team.

The technical support team is a multi-disciplinary organization with interface to technical, and in some cases business, support requirements for our Global Manufacturing Admin Area. Its function caters mainly to the technical needs of GM Operating facilities.

Your primary role will be to handle metering engineering aspects. This will include operation, design, and project development, installing, managing, and maintaining metering systems across multiple systems at Saudi Aramco facilities. You will also be responsible for providing technical support on high-priority metering systems issues.

Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate you will be responsible to perform the following:

  • Provide technical guidance, support, training, and expertise to the facility metering team.
  • Monitor metering system performance.

Minimum Requirements

You must have a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.

You should have a minimum of 12 years of experience in refining /oil and gas plants /petrochemical industries. 

In addition, you should possess the following capabilities.

  • Proficiency in the codes and standards in the oil and gas industry, i.e., API, BS, ISO, ASME, ANSI, IEC, ISA, IEEE, etc., is required.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in the field of metering systems.
  • Familiarity with field instrument types and applications is essential.
  • Working knowledge of oil/gas-related plant processes.

We are seeking an experienced Corrosion Engineer  to join our Global Manufacturing Excellence (GME) organization under the Downstream Reliability Solutions Department (RSD).

the Reliability Solutions Department (RSD) provides engineering support to Saudi Aramco Global Manufacturing wholly owned and affiliates’ facilities (Refining, NGL Processing, and Petrochemicals). This includes reliability, inspection, corrosion management, static equipment, rotating equipment, electrical equipment, instrumentation and control support.

Your primary role as a Corrosion Engineer is to provide technical support to operating facilities, and the deployment of new technologies related to corrosion management.   • 15 years of experience in corrosion management, metallurgical sciences, and welding engineering in the Oil and Gas Industry’s “downstream sector”.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of the various international standards and codes including NACE, ASME, API and ASTM with emphasis on corrosion and inspection codes such as API-571, API-580, API-570 and API-510.

Your primary role is to deploy and sustain online process simulations (process digital twins), perform process optimization activities to identify opportunities, monitor process performance KPIs and develop advanced process optimization data-enabled solutions. This role sits at the boundary of process engineering and digitalization beyond traditional process simulation roles. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between rigorous thermodynamic models, process digital twins, real-time process data and hybrid analytics through AI.

Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

  • Lead the development, deployment, and sustainment of PST that integrate real-time process data with rigorous equation-oriented or sequential simulation engines in alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Configure and troubleshoot the connectivity between plant historians, laboratory information systems, and simulation software to ensure seamless data ingestion and reconciliation.
  • Utilize PST to perform automated monitoring of facility health, detecting deviations between ideal performance and actual plant operations to identify opportunity gaps.
  • Develop and maintain thermodynamic models and mathematical equations that accurately represent the behavior of various processes ensuring the PST accurately reflects the current state of the facility (including heat exchanger fouling, catalyst decay, etc.).
  • Perform offline engineering studies using PST to analyze complex operational problems, debottleneck constraints, and conduct "what-if" scenarios based on current operating conditions.
  • Act as the technical liaison between data teams and Operations/Process Engineering teams, leading technical sessions on model architecture, data quality, and commissioning.
  • Lead process optimization sessions to de-bottleneck key process units such as CDU/VDU, Hydrocrackers, Catalytic crackers, Diesel Hydrotreaters, Isomerization.
  • Benchmark process optimization KPIs with 15+ operating facilities and provide development of programs, processes, guidelines and best practices.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to operating facilities Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams by consulting, providing awareness sessions, and participating and leading technical exchanges and conferences.

Minimum Requirements

  • You must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.

We are seeking a Process Engineer with extensive hands-on expertise in Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRU) and Sour Water Stripper (SWS) processes to join our Operation Engineering Solutions Department (OESD).

OESD's technical team is responsible for providing high-quality, multi-disciplinary support to Global Manufacturing operating facilities (Refineries, NGLF, and petrochemical plants) within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and globally.

Your primary role is to provide in-depth process engineering and operations expertise to monitor, optimize, and drive performance improvement programs for refineries' SRU & SWS, including remote and on-site technical advisory support, benchmarking, and technology knowledge management.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews of existing SRU & SWS facilities and analyze KPIs related to operability, profitability, reliability, and process safety.
